Richard,
What would have to be done to have Release increase the availability of trance (not progressive trance) vinyl in the store?
As I said before - I'd love to give you guys my money (because you're gents and good people). Many of us who buy hundreds of trance records per year end up having to go overseas to get the tracks we want.
I'm talking about regular trance releases (not just the top 5 of the month) from lables like: Armind, ASOT, Black Hole, Bonzai, Captivating
Data, Energetic Records, ID&T, In Trance We Trust, Liquid, Lost Language, Magic Muzik, Platipus, Purple Eye, Yeti, etc. I know I've seen records from all of these lables in your store before.
There must not a market for true trance music in Toronto. Even though IMO this is a highly underserviced market in Toronto (and North America). It could just be very well a matter of volume/scale.
"Release wants to focus on the genres they currently cover" is a completely reasonable response. I know from my own business ventures that focusing on your target market is key - and perhaps trance proper isn't a space that makes sense for Release (based on the above mentioned factors).
Just curious though. Keep up the good work!
