YES it’s here! You can buy it from the 29th October and it’s been well worth the wait! Musical healing from the masters, Deep Dish bring you this 21st episode from the mighty and epic forces of Global Underground. The boys from Boxed have shown us the true global power of music in this awesome series of CD inspirations! Deep Dish DJ’ing in Moscow is genius, the Iranian boys, who live in New York bringing you the very best from Moscow - cool! Expecting perfection from this product I was not disappointed, the CD celebrates life and the party comes from Club XIII, Moscow. At times such as these we all need music to help cope with sadness and tragedy- no one knows this more than the duo Ali & Sharam, who in schooldays used to receive ‘terrorist’ jives themselves!
CD1’s journey starts with a melancholic beginning through tribal darkness to progressive conclusions. The tracks are beautiful and I must single out 16B featuring the very talented Richard Morel for special credit cos it’s well over due! His ‘Escape (Driving To Heaven)’ is divine, melancholic yet so full of hope - a heaven sent house collaboration morel like! Other gems in the first CD worth noting are the Creamer & Stephane K Remix of Nat Monday’s ‘Waiting’, a mighty fine and exciting house hit with a difference. I also love the Dido ‘Thank You’ hit which has been touched up by the Deep ones themselves, the ‘Unreleased Mix’ is a punishing groove master! The soon to be massive hit by Iio, ‘Rapture’ (Deep Dish Space Remix) is there too for your aural pleasure, beautiful vocals have been ‘tweaked’ to sheer perfection over punchy kicks. All in all CD 1 is an enchanting journey through an extremely well programmed mix. Soothing liquid music!
CD2 is -more banging- say the world ambassadors of democratic dance music! It kicks off with a Way Out West remix of ‘Shame’ by BT, with ample bass and reverb there’s a welcoming dub appeal to the introduction. Now warmed by many illustrious artists, through a wonderfully constructed set, we are presented with an unusual reworking of Chaka Khan’s ‘I Feel For You’, entitled, ‘I Feel Stereo’ by Dino Lenny. The CD then flows through some international hit remixes by Markus Shultz, which up the gear and groove accordingly as the haunting rhythms of John Creamer & Stephane K’s ‘I Wish You Were Here’ (16b Remix) enter the arena! The second CD of this 26-track epic ends with the soulful combination of Envy’s ‘Faith’ craftily combined with an accapella of Louie Balo / Jeannie Hopper’s aptly titled ‘Guiding Light’! Perfect!
It’s soulful, funky, dubby, deep, tribal, groovy, progressive, techno tinged, stomping good old-fashioned house music at its best. It’s the past, present and future - This is superb brilliance, absolutely flawless - it’s got my vote, and probably won’t come off my CD player for far too long, a ‘musical answer’ madness?
