Cyrus, don't be so biased and racist. You only have one life to live, so have fun with it, eat what you want, when you want, and where you want!!!

I think they did! I seem to remember some thing where someone only ate bigmacs for a fortnight (or some other time period). By the end of the time he was throwing up every time he ate something. Doctor checked him out, said he had done over his liver or something. Sorry to be vague, can’t remember the specifics.

I believe St Andrew already responded to this. Any diet that consists of only one food item will make a person sick after a while. There is no food item that contains all the necessarry nutrients in desired amounts. That's why people naturally get fed up when eating same things over and over again. Try doing that with a bowl of green salad every day for 2 weeks, and you'll probably puke whenever you see green salad for the next few months.

inactivity and diet selection is why everyone is so fat these days
if you take in more energy than you use, the excess is stored as fat

on heart disease, your diet and genetic predisposition is what will determine whether you get heart disease or not
even when people arent fat, they can still die from heart disease, being obese just increases the likelyhood of it happening. young elite athletes have died from heart disease because of genetics so it doesnt matter how fit you are, you arent immune.

in regards to diet, total energy intake for the average male is about 14000kJ and for a female 9000kJ. about 60% of your daily energy intake should come from carbs, 15% from protein and 25% from fat. with fat, less than a third should be saturated cause
excessive saturated fats leads to excessive production of cholesterol. ldl is a cholesterol transporter and it has an affinity with the internal walls of arteries so if your diet is poor, it could lead to excessive amounts of ldl in your blood. without adequate levels of hdl (the cholesterol remover), it builds up in your arteries and eventually blocks them up
also, without carbs, your body is inefficient in its use of fat as energy.
your body uses carbs for energy during activity and fat during inactivity, so no fat diets are out. no carbs means no energy do do anything
carbs should be more complex than simple (sugars)
its amazing what you can learn in a cpl weeks at uni but this damn diet thing is such a hassle to keep balanced!!

/edit also from reading the article i also got that all it is saying is that a big mac is healthier than a french bagel or whatever
its like saying a pound of fat is healthier than a pound of lard, so lets all start eating more lard

no matter how thin you are, you arent immune to cholesterol build up

French nutritionists give thumbs up to Big Mac

PARIS, France (Reuters) -- Want to stay fit and healthy?

Two top French nutritionists are telling people to go for a Big Mac and keep their fingers off the traditional French quiche.

In an unexpected message to a country priding itself on the superiority of its food, a new food guide praises the McDonald's burger for having a higher and healthier protein-to-fat ratio than France's Quiche Lorraine.

"Strangely enough, the products which are the most demonized are not necessarily the worst," Jean-Michel Cohen and Patrick Serog write in their book "Savoir Manger," in which they analyze 5,000 dishes available in shops and restaurants.

The verdict published this month comes as McDonald's launches a new campaign to add healthier food choices to its menus.

It has also said it is eliminating Supersize fries and soft drinks.

Aha! I found the source of the information!

Anyway, back to McDo vs Quiche, i did actually once hear a report bout this on a french channel. Whether it's true or not, i dunno, i'll let the experts do their job on this one but one thing for sure: Big Macs can kiss me arse!
