I was pretty sure the thread threw people off from buying the B2031As.. it threw me off and I bought Event TR6s instead...

I have the Truth monitors. They sound pretty good but I'm not satisfied with them. A little high on the tweeters...I have to switch them -2db...bass response is tight but doesn't go low...for 8", it could do better. Mid is alright I guess. They're very loud and don't distort too much. I packed them in their original boxes the other day and when I pulled them out 2 weeks later, the tweeter in one of them stopped working. I've read many negative reviews about that problem...I was another lucky one to be affected by it. First product I ever buy that fails on me. Anyway, good budget monitor but if you're serious on your music, look for something a little bit better and more real.

i use 2031a's and they sound great for there price, the low mid and highs can be set to suit room acoustics, i red loads of reviews b4 buying, reviews that compaired them to loads of other monitors ranging from the price range of the truths rite up to the mackie 824's which are the dogs !! and the review ended by saying if u cant afford the 824's get the truths, im near sure the review was in sound on sound

maybe check out yamaha's new white cones. the new versions of the classic yamahas all pro studios use..

they say if you get a track sounding good on these then it will sound good on everything im looking at the two sizes and may go for the 5" versions. but the 8" vesions sounded more rounded in the bass area.

imo behringer are great value overall, but only if you are lucky and get a unit that lasts. a great deal of their hardware is almost short term, throw away gear in a lot of pro's eyes. i have bought crossovers for pa and they have lasted 7 months before a switch went funny and started crackling. also my behringer mixer has an annoying hum that wont go away.

if you do go for behringr i would say get non active. and a second hand amp to run them. then there are less parts to go wrong on em!
