BOP might be a good answer.

You just have to remember that it's such an early development for it right now. It will help those people that have, and will have, no luck in getting braodband.

I think that eventually they will create better filters, receivers, and transmitter to compensate for most electromagnetic issues.

I would rather see them push a wireless US network but can't see companies investing that much money, but who knows.

BOP is a good idea, but it needs more research and development.

u're saying two of the same things, the electric field = the magnetic field. the wire generates a magnetic field around the wire when current is flowing through it. how can it affect data packets? it can't, since it's the data that's being sent through which creates the magnetic field. electric fields from other devices, e.g. cellphones might affect data, not sure though, those things can be easily solved

it's only a matter of time before these lines are used by companies to see what u like, dislike, use the most, etc. Why even use the government Census anymore if they already know what kind of ketchup we buy?

Would be way too laggy, I bet. Besides, do we really need local bigtime jack-ass corporations taking out our power while they hook up to the internet?

if they get around that issue tho it looks promising! I have seen kits for using powerlines as LAN interfaces for a while though now actually.

yea, on some show 'the screensavers' on techtv, they showed which i believe was some sort of bpl interface for sharing broadband. they said it wasn't up to snuff though. maybe good for neighborly sharing of broadband, but not very good for far away places.

i guess the actual bpl is making it's way huh...it could turn into a scene in minority report where all electronic devices are 'connected'
