I'm not really a big fan of Kerry (mostly because of some of his recent Senate votes), but the main reason I'm supporting Kerry is because Bush has appointed so many religious extremists to high-level cabinet positions in his Administration. From all that I’ve read, his Administration is a SEVERE threat to many of the very freedoms upon which the US was founded.

The Bush Administration’s official policy (I’m not making this up) on birth control is that women should only use “natural” birth control methods such as checking the consistency or color of their cervical mucous. Any doctor who’s not a crazed fanatic will tell you that this method is a complete failure in terms of predicting ovulation, and is unusable.


President Bush in his State of the Union Address said he planned to double funding for "abstinence only" sex ed programs in schools that disseminate false information to students regarding contraception:

These religious extremists that Bush has appointed to his cabinet positions give us an insight into the kind of people he will appoint to the US Supreme Court if given the chance. I have no doubt, none, that they will overturn the historical separation of church and state, and lay the groundwork for a quasi-theocratic state.


I'm quite upset that the mainstream media, other than some newspapers, is not covering this disturbing trend of the religious extremists having taken over the Republican Party (and now the government). Never before has church/state separation, religious freedom, and many constitutionally protected freedoms been in such jeopardy.

This is all part of the far-right Fundamentalist plan. Believe me, I've read many of Pat Robertson's crazed writings, and though the man should probably be in an insane asylum, he has an incredible influence over the government because of his great wealth.

The funny thing is, if you ask many Christians, they also abhore the man.


The Robertsonites knew how apathetic the public is, so they knew that if they got mobilized it would be relatively easy for them to stage a coup from within to gain control of the government.


It's also important to note that not all Christian Fundamentalists are extremists who believe in imposing their "Christian" views on everyone through the mechanisms of government.
