ok so not everything will get signed, but why waste the chance?! thats all we are saying!
If getting signed is all you think about then you're in it for the wrong reasons.
Like I said before, I've had two tracks signed that were first posted up here in full. Of course I went back to the tunes and upgraded them afterwards but they are essentially still the same tracks. Also, same with Haak - he got both Bass Shuttle and Pulling Strings signed and he has posted both here in full. (I think).
Getting signed isn't everything. I never did my tracks thinking whether they would get signed or not. I did them because I love making music and I only do it for me and you all to enjoy.
im sorry but i didnt even bother reading the end of that because i completely disagree. Getting signed doesnt mean money, it means that u get a chance to share your self with a fuck load of people. and to get your music out. like a message. Getting signed in this genre isnt all about money, its about being able to express urself thru music to people who can relate to you thru ur music. Your in it for the rong reasons if your goingto go around putting people down for having that objective.

Maybe you should had read it since you seemed to completely miss my point.
yeah ok sorry bout that i only read the first line
but still i think its quite unfair to say that making music with a wish to one day get signed is the wrong reason.

No, what I meant that if that was your only reason to make music.
Sure, I always dreamed of getting signed too but I never made music because I wanted to get signed.
but the only point im tryin to make in this topic is y risk the chance just to please some fussy people on here? whats rong with posting 2 samples, a 128 short sample and a full copy 96 kbs rip
that way everyone is happy and u still have a chance

Couldn't agree with you more John... I mostly post up tracks after getting answers from labels on whether they are interested or not. Depending on that I decide to post it up entirely or not at all, simple as that. Actually I'm kinda sick of waiting for labels to answer anywayz. I'm not that fond of lofi's or clips either.
Rock on!
Cheers,
Wim

Yep, this has been an issue for me since the day I came here and it's only getting worse by the day.
People seem to think the labels are going to sign anything these days and won't do so if the tracks have been posted up in full. Just look at Haak, for example. Nearly all the tracks he's had released were first posted up here in full. I have posted full tracks here and had labels contact me because they heard the full track here. Not only once but twice.
What's even worse is people posting clips of unfinished stuff. I have decided not to listen to any clips whatsoever from now on unless the clip is fully justified.
Totally agree with you as well Nik... Haak's a good example for us all. Posting up tracks here won't reach to everyone at all, you need labels for that. Therefor giving them away completely might decrease your chance, because that sounds logical. Though whether it's 100% certified, I don't really know. Selling tracks through vinyls, cd's etc reaches a whole lot of more people anyway.
I can also agree on the fact that labels have only contacted me on full tracks I posted up, which made me doubt the fact that they won't sign it anymore for that reason.
As for unfinished stuff, it might be a good idea to post them in a different section?
