In my 98 civic sedan, i've got:

1, infinity bass-link powered sub
2, 3-way infinity kappa 6x9s
2, 2-way infinity kappa 6.5"s in the front doors
all powered by a sony cdx-mp70. Sweet tray-loading mp3 cd player.

The whole thing sounds pretty good, especially for the low low price i got all the stuff at. Certainly won't win any contests, but sure sounds good with a little ferry corsten playing

How about looking into a higher output (high amp) alternator?

I'd go battery, capacitor and then alternator. Or even capacitor, battery, alternator.

Depends if the alternator in your car is old I would replace that first.
