wait... can you do that?

wouldnt it be:
(1/z)^-1 = (1/R + 1/xc)^-1
z = ((R + xc)/(Rxc))^-1
z = Rxc/(R + xc)

sorry I forgot the j operator.

this is true:
yt = 1/R - j1/xc
z = 1/yt
z = 1/(1/R -j1/Xc)
z= R - jXc

"Management Information Systems (MIS) is the study of the design, implementation, management and use of information technology applications in organizations."

Basically what most ppl that study MIS do is work for consulting companies or do similar consulting jobs for other companies.

An example of what they do is let's say everything in a company is paper driven, from credit card info, to costumer information. What you would do is design, build and implement an information system that matches the company's needs.
Just a little example, there are many other things MIS ppl can do though.
The highest position an MIS can reach in a company is Chief Information Officer (CIO) if he works as an MIS all they way through.

MIS know everything from management, entrepreneurship, information technology, information systems, and some computer science

I'm an MIS myself, I love it

You have to have a general idea of programming. At my school you have to take at least 1 computer science course.
But some of the MIS courses require some programming in ASP, VB.NET, etc.
I hate programming too, but usually what we have to build are databases and different programs that are able to read the data from it.

Indeed! If we had an MIS major here I'd switch to it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately the closest I can get is switch to business administration with an emphasis in management. or computer science.

I'm a former CS major and got tired of the way-too-broad CS program here...I switched last week to business administration and a minor in CS (since that's already taken care of and out of the way). I still haven't chosen my BADM option though...might go with accounting or the general business option.

Alright so last week I went and talked with my professor. He seemed open to the idea that he could be wrong, so he wrote down a note to himself to research it later and to "consult some of his CIS people". Sounded fine to me. And we actually had a great discussion afterwards--not directly related but about the curriculum in general.

So Friday morning I get an e-mail saying to check the textbook at the bottom of page 263. Apparently the textbook is wrong as well. E-mail attachments do not go through FTP!! How the hell would people still receive file attachments when half of the hosts on the internet block or shut off FTP?! Jesus H. Christ in a chicken basket with a side of fries. This man just needs to get off his ass and do some simple research...I thought he was going to actually research it and not look up a page number in the book where he found that statement.

Anywho, I'll be sending him back all the proof he needs. And getting my favorite CS professor (the best one in the department) to back me up.

Christ, I hate lazy professors.

Does your school offer Computer Information Systems? It's a little similar to MIS, but they concentrate more on the computer and programming part of IS.

Sorry to hear about about that prof. though, I've never had any problems about them being wrong...
