hey Psy-T, hope your not thinking I got a problem with Trance, becuase I sure don't, I still love it, I was just wondering why its missing that certain <- something, so just wanted to hear peoples opinions, I still love trance, and yes change is good, I just hope it doesn't get more commercial.

Oh and thanks for the spelling, I knew I spelt it wrong, but couldn't remember the correct way.

I think this is true too, but the fact is that there are many, many more producers now a days than there were about 5 years ago, so there are a ton more crappy tracks too. It's just a dilution of talent, like when a sports league gets too many teams, like baseball. One of the many reasons there are so many more homeruns hit these days is because of the amount of teams and number of pitchers needed on each team, you have to start selecting worse and worse pitchers, which are easier to hit homeruns off of. Same thing in trance, the more producers that spring up, the more bad ones there are bound to be. But there are still plenty of quality producers who make amazing tracks, just have to find them.

That's actually the reason I listen to Trance and other EDM, because it gives me that shiver down my back. Other music styles not so much or not at all.

lol, took the words right out of my mouth

but come on, there's still SOME very decent stuff coming out these days too, which in fact is pretty surprising - i would have thought they'd have run out of ideas by now

Trance has been around for yonks and people that think it started in 1999 need to do a bit of research, early 90's was when it first emerged as it evolved out of techno.

For me alot of the best trance records pre-date 1998, although there were some corkers produced in 1998 and 1999. 1999 was just the year it hit the commerical mainstream and when most people got to hear about it.

that doesnt make any sense, you cant be unique and innovative ten years later if your playing the same stuff, so producers change with the times and people get mad about it, but if they didnt, then people would get mad because there not innovating

1)its missing that surtain something that sends a screaming shiver down your back.

2)we are just getting older and don't want the music to change into where its going.

just a thought, anybody else got ideas as to why music doesn't "seem" as good as it was 5-6 years ago?

You can still play the same stuff without having to change the style. What i'm talking about is the "forumla" everyone follows now. Intro - Body - Climax - Body - Outro. Of course every track is like this but at least try not to be so blunt with it, ya know? It's like the days of enjoying simple yet complex melodies are gone and all people care about are anthem power house synths.

Could it be because people are continuously coming into electronic music, and that anthem power house synths are most accessible? Then it takes them a while to even realize that other genres of electronica can be good also? I don't know.
