i agree with you...
i'm not a raver, never have been. i went to one rave in 2001 and had the worst time ever...
i despise it when people hear i go to clubs, stay out late, etc. and they say: 'so, you go to raves?'
NO i don't go to raves, i go to clubs. i am a clubber.
what's the difference? from what i've experienced: a more controlled and mature environment in clubs. people are there more for the music than for 'other' things...
nope, not a fan of the rave scene...maybe if i was 16

je ne crois pas. les partys de Ray Junior par exemple sont très très populaires comparés à ce qu'ils étaient il y a 2~3 ans. Et tous les raves montréalais, même les petites productions, s'assurent maintenant d'avoir un gros nom international présent à chaque party alors qu'avant on ne misait que sur des djs locaux et parfois du sud est des USA. Aussi, l'âge des participants aux raves a drastiquement augmenté. On peut croire que maintenant les ravers mineurs se tiennent plutôt dans de petits partys privés. De mon oeil, j'évalue que les participants des événements Ray Junior il y a 2~3 ans avaient 16~17 ans de moyenne tandis que maintenant ça doit se situer autour de 19~20 ans. Et ce n'est pas seulement les mêmes qui ont vieillis 
Et comme j'ai déjà dit il y a longtemps, je suis pas mal certain que les raves font partie de la dynamique économique du domaine des partys électroniques à Montréal. Un jeune de 16~17 ans découvrira le trance chez Ray Junior, passera 1 an à télécharger des trucs, et finira au Aria quand Armin y passera.

If someone told me i was a raver i really don't think i would care, becasue they honestly have no clue what they are talking about.
Most of the music we listen to may have sprung from raves, put for the most part music you hear in raves now days is quite different than what you will hear at aria. And like you've all stated above, there's a huge difference in ambiance. which personally i like.
I think a large portion of this is due to maturaty. In After you have to be old enough to get into a bar, not so in raves. you end up with alot of kids at raves. that is where i think most of your candy kids come from.
