Just for one day??
I would love to hear some trance myself. Chiclet was an awesome suggestion (who had slipped my mind, she played on one of my stages (err.. the ones I was stage managing) at Pride last year and she totally rocked!) You can bet she will be approached by us.
It's a tough weekend though, as many DJs are booked up at every gay bar (and those that want to be gay that night to take advantage of the crowds.) Many of those suggested so far have already been approached and weren't able to make it (although many loved the idea and were very supportive).
Do they have to be gay? I would say that the answer is no, (and I appreciate that Sarah is willing to be curious"" for the night. I personally know a million or so lesbians who just might take her up on it. (as an aside, we weren't going to ask if Sarah was gay and just book her, and thn play innocent "but gee... we thought she was gay." unfortunately Sarah outed herself on this board as straight...makes for a tougher sell now)) BUT since it is Pride Week, we wanted to make sure we were exhausting the A-list of gay and lesbian DJs first. If we end up with an A-list gay-positive "straight" DJ, that would be pretty awesome too.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Kepp the trance ones coming if you have any more ideas... I'll see what I can do.
And Stefan... dude, what's your problem. Chill out. Enjoy our country's acceptance and diversity. With all the shit going on in the world, just be happy that we live in a place that accepts people's differences.
