i cannot see why you compare the 3000 to the 500, since it's based on the 600. the eq's are the same from the 600, beat matched effects, 2 channels on x-fader, you can still play the other two on the channel faders. All things the 500 didn't have. And it usually sells for the same price as the 500.
The 600 has the samples that the 3000 does not, and that is why you should be able to get the 3000 considerably cheaper. it also has x-fader based effects, but i cannot say i've used them in the 18 months i've had the 3000.

Are you saying the 500 and the 600 sound the same? Because 600 sounds WAYYY better than a 500 does. I was just wondering how a 500 sounds compared to a 3000, and if the 3000 sounds the same as a 600.

The 3000 is identical to the 600 in ALL ways except that its a 19", doesnt have a sampler, but instead carries the industry-first 'beat-effekts'. The reason why the 3000 is cheaper (and this is comes from pioneer themselves) is because not as much money had to go into researching. Also its important to remember that this price applies to just North-America. In the rest of the wrold, the djm-3000 is around 100USD more expensive than the 600. If you go to djsounds.com you can also see that pioneer refers the djm-600 as the 'little sister' to the djm-3000..not the other way around. And as for sound quality..it is equally good to the djm-600 and faaaar superior to the djm-500. And trust me on this..I was raised by an audiophile dad who trained my ear ever since I was 6.

Peace, Dj Dissent

where'd you get the 3000 being more expensive in the rest of the world. Pio's RRP's here are AUS$2499 for the 600 and AUS$1899 for the 3000, not that anyone would pay those prices, but they show the relative price pretty well.
There are more differences, extra mike inputs, more fader starts

the 3000 is more expensive than the 600 here. i think its us stupid english people liking to pay more for something you can screw into a rack...

but the layout on the 3000 is what does it for me, nice, spread out, everything right there...

OK, so I'm def gonna get the 3000. The thing im most concerned about is the sound quality. with my POS behringer, the sound quality is lacking. How do you compare the sound quality of the 3000 with that of the DJX700?

You really cant, Behringer just straight out sucks and Pioneer sucks alot less.

Right now, I have a Xone:62... If I ever get another mixer, I would get maybe a Urei 1620 or Dateq Styx.
