Interference One Year
WOW. What a night! What a fitting tribute to a years worth of so many people's hard work. John, Emery, thanks for everything. And Carlos, you're so right when you call the TOTA nation a family: so many wonderful people, so unitary, I feel so priviledged to have so many amazing friends.
As for the evening's performances:
Mossey&Schryer: Holy shit. You guys played so well together. On all counts, that was a great performance. I really would love to hear you two do that kind of thing again!
Eric: So solid
Deepgroove: Guys, it was such a pleasure playing with such a great act @ Decadence, and it was such a pleasure playing with such a great act again. You brought the house down.
Deko-Ze: So bangin', so good.
Mobius&Fuzion: Great work guys. Great transition from tech to trance, especially given the weird situation @ the beginning of your set.
Eso&24/7: Guys, you rock. Such a great team. Can't wait to record this week's ETS show w/ you today. Rich: I love that Diablo tune/remix.
My tracklisting:
1. Agoria--Organic(VinylEdit)--Peer
+ Versa--ChantingSouls(accapella)--SAW
2. Lizana&J.Chab--Drastic--Tekktonn
3. Funktion--Seduction--AlternativeRoute
+ SmashingPumpkins--Disarm--Hutt

i started a review yesterday ... but got sidetracked falling asleep ...hehe!
i think this was probably the best party i've been to at system! everywhere i went and looked i got hugs and kisses left, right and centre from all of you, ... huge, happy smiling faces everywhere i looked! it was overwhelming! ...
the best part of the nite was the handing over of the present to John and to see him all touched, holding back some tears! it was a wonderful & very moving feeling to see everyone of us standing around him, hands up in the air, cheering for him, and everyone giving big hugs and kisses, - guys and girls! it really was the get-together of one big family!!
the love, vibe and energy in a club all to ourselves was definitely unprecedented! the tunes were pumping and energetic all nite long, and all the DJ's did an amazing job!!
thank you so much John, and Emery as well, for providing us with all this! i think i speak for everyone when i say that you make all very happy!
this was definitely another landmark event for our group!
i will see many of you tonite at Freedom!
Malek - i'm glad that you came down from Montreal to spend a long weekend with your new group of friends! it was great seeing you on fri. and to be able to spend some quality time with you! it's been a while cos i've been missing you a lot, sweety!! ... my one and only true friend from Montreal ... after all we've been through!

Every now and again, certain moments in time set themselves apart as a memory you instantly know will stay crisp and fresh in one's mind. For me, this night was one of those rare moments. The degree of togetherness and support from so many angles was no less than jaw-dropping.
Before I get into the review I must honestly say despite all the amazing music and performances by my fellow DJ's, the pinnacle of my night was by far the moment a circle of faces converged around our friend and promoter, John. In that moment, every reason I love this scene and the people it calls out to, was clearly visible. As DJ's, fans, and friends, we all were thankful for the tireless support and often overlooked work behind the scenes by this great person. John, I hope you now see your work DOES touch people and have great value. It amazed me when looking around at that point, the sheer diversity of the friends we have come to know and care about within this microcosm. I do not think one could cast a more varied group of people, and that is what amazes me. So many diferent backgrounds, cultures and outlooks all converged together as respected friends strictly on the power of our love of the music and it's community.
Now for the review. First off, playing with Mike was something I've long asked John to make happen. Upon meeting him and Jenna, I instantly realized an uncanny similarity in our approach and style as DJ's but more inportantly they were both people I knew right off as special. Going into the night, neither Mike or I had played together, let alone attempted a full versus set on 4 tables and two mixers. Not even we, I don't think expected to hammer a set as well as we did playing off eachother and setting each other's tunes up so well. Mike, It was truly my pleasure to play with you!!!!!!
p.s. - Just so you all know how similar we were up there: Twice in our set, one of us played a track the other was planning to play. When you think of the countless tracks and remixes out there, that's pretty amazing.
Vagrant & Deepgroove: Holy freight-train of a set. The energy of the dark proggy-trance and techno laced beats was pure delicousness. Matt, I think it was you that played the pumpkins vocal.....just so you know, when the drop came, everyone one the floor was singing along.....pure bliss!!!!! Eric, as always I get so excited to hear you play. You are the master of the DEEP prog!!!! As for Ariel and Alex, you guys are SOOO killer. The proggy-trance near the end OWNED me and I trainspotted a few from my own case as well!!!!
Dekoze: What can I say? Every time I hear you I feel happily raped!!! There was some serious "Roland Clarke style" vocal madness going on and your mixer work is a 12/10. Where you find all that head splitting tribal techno, I'll never know........but in the words of Release reviews......that was MASSIVE!!!!!!
Mobius and Cinar: Firstly, Carlos showed amazing class in starting his set with LKD & Max's remix as promised despite following Dekoze's Mayhem. You gained a lot of respect from that playing it despite knowing the flow would change. Peak time all the way from both of you...can't wait to see the tracklist to pick out some of the killer tunes you both played.
Eso and Rich: People need to realize how amazing it is to have two people who were there from the start, still have so much love and energy to give by the time you guys went on. I was in awe. Rich, the second track you played, blew my head off with a crazy blend of techno proggy funk and Eso, holy techno madness. I will definitly be aching to hear your set again on the recordings!!!!!!!
Other thanks to Sgt. Foo for the dedicated work in recording the night for us, the countless people from TA who always show such world-class support (way too many to mention....ok RJ has to be mentioned.... DOOODE) and all the regular system fans who gave this night a chance and were so happily entertained.
Saving the best for last: Without a doubt, I would truly be nothing without all the constant help and support from my GF, Heidi (Angelgirl). The effort she put into recruit and pack the guestlist was unbelievable. One a daily basis, the support and work she volunteers for my benefit as a DJ is infinite and I can only thank her everyday!!!!
Ok so when is the next one???????????????
peace
FF
