when someone finally gets it right, wether it be Technics, Pioneer or any other manufacturer then we will see the demise of vinyl... sad but true.
I honestly don't think a cd player will replace vinyl anytime soon. Just remember audiophiles still perfer vinyl over cds, and even if they were gonna stop producing records today im sure there will be plenty of clasics laying around to buy. BTW, lots of people were shocked when i started djing b/c 95% of what i use is vinyl. They thought it died like 8tracks or something.

A fair point, I agree Vinyl will be around for a long time yet, but lets see what starts to happen when someone gets the formula right for the CD players.
Like you and most people i prefer vinyl, but ATM my CD collection is outgrowing the vinyl by far because i cant get the tunes i want on vinyl here and it costs a bit to have it shipped for some reason
anyway i wonder if Pioneer will attempt the technics design and see how it works

But only an idiot would pay $1200 for one CD turntable when all they want to do is drop a cd now and then.
i just hope technics reads forums from djs and gets the message that their cd deck has some very serious flaws. I read once it took over ten years to develop the sl1200, and if they put that same dedication in their cd decks i believe they would have a winner. im waiting for their answer.

Dont count the sldz1200's out quite yet.I have posted the same post in a thread before and I do it again here.
2 Things:
1>Dont believe in these early reviews, many are posted by rival companies.(Ever wondered why theres no one talking in the videos??).....Hint:Modulation.
2>Wait for the MKII's they will be killers.Technics will iron out everything. If it works out the way its supossed to...it will be the closest thing to TT's.They have already releasd a newer version of sldz1200 with improved skratch simulation.(not as good as the CDJ OR the S5000 yet). But working on them in Vinyl mode is GREAT!
Hate to say it but 5 years(Max) and Vinyls will be on their way out. PvD is already using FS past few months.
CDJ1000's for NOW.....SLDZ1200's for THEN.

What about it if was made by Alesis i.e. an Alesis CDX?
....haha well it is (everyone knows it but it's totally true on hitech stuff like this, it's all Alesis like my mixer even says on it "powered by Alesis" means Numark badge Alesis mixer (it came direct from the Alesis factory when I ordered it!!!))
A name means fuck all these days tech cd decks = shit, numark = ace.
Your buying a product not a name. Which you know and everyone know but we all get sucked in to an extent.
