I doubt detroit will win all three games at home. They haven't been able to win three games straight since the first round(excluding the fact that they lost one at home), what makes you think they can do that in the finals? Detroit's lost at least one game at home every series, I see the same in the next 3 games.
What determines the winner of the finals is if detroit can win 2 at home, or if the lakers can pull 2 off the road. I guarentee one win for the lakers at the palace.. But if detroit wins say, the games 4 & 5, i dont think the Lakers can win game 6. Their morale will be too down. But you never know, the lakers this year are way unpredictable. |
Detroit will win games 3 and 4 DEFINITELY...no doubt bout that...there defense will just be too much of a factor in the first two games back home...the third home game, game 5, will be the test of truth obviously, because if they lose game 5 and head back to LA for the final two games, up 3-2, they may lose the final two in LA...that is very possible...so the trick is to win all three in Detroit or chances are, they lose series...And i think the Pistons understand their position and know that they must win the next three or they could let it all slip away...the recovery from the devastating loss in game 2 will be tough for the Pistons but the home advantage, with the NBA's best defensive team in the last 5 years, may turn out to be too much even for Shaq, Kobe, Payton, and the flaking Malone...
PS. In life I have realized certain things..One thing that seems to be more certain than not, it's when predictions and certain guarantees are made, they almost never or rarely hold up...Its just murphy's law at work...Everyone, I mean EVERYONE, had the Lakers winning the championship in the preseason this past year...Starting off slow, the hype calmed down...Speculations were being made bout chemistry and too many all stars on the same team...Kobe in legal trouble, Shaq getting hurt, Payton whining all the time, Malone just getting old, but then they start winning again, like the lakers of old...and they go on a hot run to end the season giving them a strong record to end the season and ultimately giving them home court advantage in this years Finals...But this is where murphy's law likes to come into play...Everyone now, and still rightfully so, think the Lakers will win...The novice fan understands that they are over-loaded with talent...The experienced fan understands that they are good and dominant, but the last year it will all hold together for that team...Then you have me, the doubtful/cautious/risk-adverse fan and I believe whenever Murphy has a chance to screw things up, he does...I particularly don't like the Detroit Pistons but I don't care for KOBE and the non-charismatic Lakers...And from my observance, this finals can only end up in an upset by Detroit cuz everyone, and i mean alot of people still think the lakers are too good for Detroit...are they you ask?...i think they are loaded with more talent but when did Murphy ever care about that?...Sorry for all those that bet on LA this year...
