i make french toast every weekend since it's yummier and easier than pancakes in my opinion...and here is my recipe (i've been told is the best). hehe. i make this on saturday mornings and store the leftovers for sunday morning breakfast. hehe.
3/4 cup milk
3 eggs
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
Dash of cinnamon (add desired amount)
Some bread (about 8 slices)
Ok, so first, beat milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt and cinnamon together with wire whisky thing. make sure your lightly greased pan or griddle is hot. to make sure just take a couple drops of water and see if they bubble up and jump around when you sprinkle them on the pan/griddle. anyway, now take the bread and dip both sides into mixture. then put on pan/griddle for about 4 minutes (eyeball it) on each side. Voila!
p.s. the vanilla is a key ingredient in french toast in my opinion |
That looks like the one I use without the fancy sugars and nutmeg. Joy of Cooking?
