I agree completely. People still just can't get it through their heads that Atmosphere is sample based. It is NOT a SOFT SYNTH. It is a sampler with a fixed set of samples.

If you don't believe me, it uses the UVI engine, which also powers the MOTU Mark 5 sampler, and a few others of which I've forgotten.

Agreed. The whole legacy collection tends to be a hog, but usually only if you pump up the voices and turn on unison.

Its all relative to how fast your CPU is...

Korg Legacy Cell is a bit of a CPU hog...

Sample based VSTis like Atmosphere arent that CPU intensive because the sound is not created by the CPU.

Reaktor is a CPU hog too...

Do you own atmosphere? It is quite CPU intensive. I don't know why, it just it.

Z3ta is the only one I have to turn off during playback of the whole mix... FL hangs like hell with it turned on but runs smooth as ever without it. It's only really the string/pad presets that are guilty though, some of the simpler ones are fine.
