RJ, of course everyone knows that. But you do realize that's exactly what goes on at every club. They take your drugs and sell them to you inside. You really thing that garbage can at the front of the Guv goes to the garbage?

Probably because of Law Enforcement's general relaxed policies on weed. LE generally couldn't care less about the odd marijuana smoker.

Just the same as you could smoke it in a park and the cops would probably leave you alone.

Now, pull out hash, coke, pills, meth in a park - and a cop is going to stop you for sure.

I'm not saying what was done was right, or acceptable - I'm just trying to think that there has to be more reason behind it then "security wants to steal my dope, man".

Personally better policies are probably required throughout the industry on this. It is completely wrong for security to be profiteering at all at a club (either through sales of drugs, "line bypass", etc).

hash is the same as weed in terms of penalty.

Thanks mags for backing me up on this one....I just wanted to stress the fact that security is not always as reliable and geniune as we would like to think they are...we put our faith in their ablility to protect us, but that may not always be the case, especially at these large scale festivals...becuase i have seen them messed. Just wanted to tell the girls to keep things in perspective, you can never feel too safe by yourself....stick to the boys girls

Every year at WEMF seems to be different, so its hard to give advise.

By the pictures, it looks like tents will be right in the open, and the camping might not be as good as last year (we could park our cars pretty much anywhere and put a tent up right next to it.) This year look like you park, and walk to a seperate camping area.
Now you don't really experience wemf without the camping, but having a CLEAN bathroom and a REAL bed in a hotel are probably worth it, even if you only use the hotel for a couple of hours the entire time.

Bring food....the concessions sell carnivale type food, so if you feel like something healthy, you probably wont find it there. And it's unlikely that you will leave the wemf site to go into town, but you never know.

That reminds me of what happened to me last night flyering. Some guy was very drunk and was harassing me (talking about his nasty dick and stuff) so my friend called the police over and the police officer, instead of making me feel safe, yelled at me and told me to move to a different spot or he was going to give me a ticket. So not only was I just harassed by this asshole, I was also harassed by this cop. What gives these days with authority?
