What kind of fan do you think I should use?

My uncle used to have a forest of weed growing in his attic, and he would simply go up there every day and spend some time wafting it all with a big piece of cardboard.

If a piece of cardboard is good enough, surely I could use a standard house-hold fan to blow air onto the plants. I have nothing to suck away the bad air though.
