I've got 3 years of uni left, but for the rest of this summer I'm interning at a control systems company. Most of the time I'm doing fuck all, but it's kind of a double-edged sword. It's nice to not have to be busting my hump all day like most jobs I've had, but at the same time it get's boring to fuck.
During term time I work as a cashier at a grocery store. The store that I work at is known to many as the "ghetto mart." We get a lot of white trash and the like. The majority of our business comes from food stamps and WIC checks, if that tells you anything. In any grocery store you're probably going to run into a bunch of morons, but in my store it's multiplied by ten. ): I was supposed to get transferred to a nice cushy job in the video department, but since I'm the best cashier they have the fucking front-end manager wouldn't let me go. (By the way I'm not bragging, the people that work at my store are fucking idiots. To be fair to myself, though, my boss did say that she'd basically boot someone else if needed when I come back, and I was recommended for supervisor right before I left for England. (: )
When I was over in England earlier this year I worked in a small pizza shop. Best job I've had yet. Easy work and free, tasty food.
There's a record shop I want to get a job at, but it's one of those places where they don't actively hire, you more or less just fall into it. ):
