Whew, what a can of worms
On the vinyl issue... for all intents and purposes, if you want to spin psytrance, you're going to be doing it on CD. Very little vinyl comes out these days, though there is enough to augment your trance or progressive sets with some very appropriate material. Why did this happen? It is a matter of market conditions stemming from many factors, mostly economical by now.
Point 2: Yahel is not psy
As for where you might find some records to purchase, I highly recommend the aforementioned www.saikosounds.com ...better yet they have very extensive realaudio samples usually running about 4 mins per song, and these can give you quite a good idea of the sound. I'll mention some names to check out for trance/prog fans, and if you don't get on the p2p networks I highly recommend you hit up saiko for some samples.
If you have a bad opinion of psytrance as stupid weird-sounding music for hippie freaks, dispose of that now. There is still plenty of that but even I don't really like it much. What has grown in the past few years is quality music that has plenty of appeal for prog/trance fans and that's just what I'm asking about. Here are some recent releases you should check out:
Human Blue - Electrolux (if the lush breakdown on Rollercoaster doesn't get you, what will? J00F commands you!)
FREq - Strange Attractors (kiwi prog of the highest quality, plenty of melody)
Son Kite - Colours (pretty much the monument of the year, BE SURE to hear "On Air" and give it a chance, this tune is massive)
Atmos - 2nd Brigade (trance and prog fans alike take note!)
Phony Orphants - Symphony (another album for the prog fans, a little dark)
Etnoscope - Drums from the Dawn of Time (tribal proggy psychedelic all-over-the-place)
Tegma - Encoded/Decoded (unique trancey sound)
All but the HB came out on 2LP as well!!
Try out some of those albums and see if your opinion of the psytrance genre changes at all.
