you know, that argument is a bit flawed cause vinyl DID die... for the usual mainstream listeners. it only stayed alive for the dj's, cause cdj's didn't become really quality until a couple years from now.
i have to agree that it will stay for a while still cause there is a lot of resistance from the scene. i understand the "coolness", the "nobleness" of using vinyl but if there are new technologies that can aim for better perfomance we shouldn't stick to the traditions. one day vinyl will die, for the dj's and electronic scene as well. i believe some labels and music styles could be more resistant than others and keep faithful to vinyl for a lot longer than just a couple of years, but eventually they will become old 60 year old farts with grey hair and quit
