Cheers mate
I was looking at these and thought they looked pretty good. ive seen similar used, made by denon and done pretty well. Might also consider these

yes you could just get 1 cdj800/1000 and use traktor, but bear in mind you need to get a mixer aswell, and cheap mixers are always shite and break after about 4-6 months of use.

i am of the belief that its always best to shell out on an expensive mixer, then get your good cd decks or turntables later, as you will find you can get the hang of things better that way. the mixer is the crucial part of the setup, as when the mixer fucks up, the decks sound shite.

if i were you, go out and have a very long hard look at the (proffesional) mixers on the market, and get a couple of reasonable cheap cdj's. as cheap ones go don't go for the cdj100. they are pants and over-priced. have a look at the numark axis9, and the new vestax one (the name escapes me).

Thumbs up

Ok guys i been looking at the net all night, and think im going to get the Pioneer CMX5000 since i found a good deal saving about 80 quid. One thing now is do i need a mixer to go with it, or can i plug it up2 my hifi system which has input/output, maybe my soundblaster extigy, or my pc. Any advice on its setup or pictures i would mostly appreciate.

Think its a nice bit of equiptment, and it does what im looking for saving a fortune on the CDJ1000s which defo look nicer and more appealing to me, but i would rather have some money to spend on a good setup for the CMX5000 than blowing tons on them

thanks a mill.

you will need a mixer with the dual cd players (unless you have a sound card with 2 line-in's, if they exist), but £100 mixers suck balls :/

hi mate, just read your thread and maybe you have bought your decks and maybe you havent. I wouldnt suggest dual cd players because you want to be hands on, right!!!!!!!!! I would suggest denon 3000's single cd players, they dont have all the bells and whistles as there premium cd player, but still an excellent deck. This deck has an active spinning platter, which simulates an analouge turntable, and its gr8. These decks also have a 15 second sampler, so u can get creative in the mix, also have a hot start and loop feature allowing even more control in the mix. These decks also have mp3 capabilty, which to be honest i dont use, but still nice feature anyway. Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!

cmx5000??? no dood.....DON'TTTTTTTTTT
cmx3000 is where its at..the cmx5000 has been phased out....that auto-dj thingie sucks balls.....
you won't need cdj800/1000s UNLESS you're into turntablism...for conventional trance, cue-ing with the jogdials is sufficient!! as for mixers..vestax pcv275 is a favourite, lowend: behringer vmx300, and the pioneer djm300 (which is what i'm using) is pretty decent. oh yeah, have you considered the cdj100s??? you can get dual cdj100s in place of the cmx3000..

Ill take your advice m8. Thought the auto cd loader was good on them, and was a nice colour aswell.

As for mixers, if i get those cmx 3000's thats leaving me with about 75 quid to spend on a mixer, which i know will be shit, but i am willing to use them until christmas just to get into the flow of things, and then blow a large amount on proper ones at xmas. I might even consider selling my TV which will get me 200 quid as i never watch tv lol.

Just getting a pair of decks that is good is fine for me, not that fussed about a mixer atm. Aslong as it does the job thats all that really matters for me atm.

The Denon 3000's are nice, but they are above my price at the moment.
