When I was younger I taught myself to play piano by ear, learned the entire Charlie Brown theme music by ear... when I got to JHS & HS learned to read music.

neither is guitar though. I've picked up most instruments quite easily though.

However set programming and playing out an outstanding set live are the things that impress me by a dj....and not a lot of people can do that.

i wish i had time to practise the guitar more.

i suppose i should feel lucky about being able to mix well. i suppose its one of those things you either find easy or not. one of my friends, no matter how hard he tries just cannot put two tunes together.

agreed about set programming tho. i know people who can mix, but cant put a set together to save their life. a bit of a cliche but its gotta 'take you on a journey'. ...and if you cant read a crowd, then you got no hope.

precisely.

I gave up trying to get better at guitar, I just try to play too many things. I'll mainly stick with getting better at drums (when I get another set ) and mixing.

I would so beat you in a violin competition.

Give me any piece, easy or hard, and I'll play them with perfection. I got 84% for my overall score at some difficult violin exam and I beat out everybody.

Okay... Considering I haven't played for a year now, maybe you would beat me! But when you say things like "some difficult violin exam" it really makes you sound like you take it seriously

p.s. I've taken a few "difficult violin exams" and "beat out everybody" as well
