Hmmm... get off your high horse and quit trolling the forums. You are probably the person that downloads all music from p2p programs, mixes them together, and calls themselves a dj. Give me a break.
Like what was said above, the dj's never said vinyl sucks, they just think that cd's are more practical and easier to transport and allow for more music. I'll agree with this. Let me ask this: if vinyls sucked so much, why have they been around so long and are still being used? Standard records like we use today have been manufactured since the early 1940's (I think), which is 60+ years.
Yes, vinyls may eventually go completely, but I can't see that for a while yet. Unless ALL dance music releases, past and present are readily available on cd or WAV quality, then vinyls will still be used for dj'ing purposes. This may never happen, as some labels may not be financially up for re-releasing all tracks in digital format. Vinyl may be the only way to play certain tracks, unless of course, you download illegally everything.

well call me dumb then because i am using new technology and you are stick with the old vinyl that was big when....hmm years and years ago.
i never tought to say it sucks because i knew how most will react, but now after seeing the biggest djs in the wolrd saying it does indeed suck, then i have nothing further to prove. |
That arguement is fundamentaly flawed.
A: it's hardly new technology, CD has been around for a long time now and no one here is disputing the sound quality is better.
Many Dj's happily use both mediums, vinyl and CD.
B: The Biggest DJ's in the world are still using vinyl, if you are referring to Dj's like Sasha or PvD, then you need to keep a closer eye on them, PvD still takes his record box around with him and his CD wallet, He is not exclusively using final scratch, at Sensation White just recently PvD combined all 3 mediums, Vinyl, Cd and his laptop.
C: not a single DJ who is using CD or Final Scratch has said Vinyl sucks, they all regard vinyl with the utmost esteem, they embrace the use of final scratch and CD because they are always on the move and its far easier to make sure they have the latest tracks with a laptop or cd than to have vinyl shipped to where ever they happen to be.
They can download a MP3 and play it that night, or a producer at a gig can hand over a freshly burnt CDr to a dj in the booth for instant playage.
D: The use of vinyl is not going to go away any time soon, turntables still outsell any other type of equipment or instrument.
If vinyl was about to go, then decks would not be selling as well as they are.
E: When CD came out over 15 years ago, people said then it would be the end of vinyl, that is not the case and in fact more vinyl was sold last year than at any other point in the last 10 years.
F: As a DJ myself i will continue to use Vinyl as long as it exists, i also use CD.
Vinyl seems more real, has more warmth and depth to it where as CD is too cold, a real Dj knows how fulfilling it is to spin with vinyl.
In conclusion i am not saying new technology is bad, as long as the music reaches the audience then any medium is ok but for you to say that Dj's that spin with vinyl are outdated and that vinyl sucks is a very immature attitude to have.
