The original spirit of the music is dead. It was new, exciting, orignal, what's around today is not. Perhaps you should have read my post a little more carefully. I can't even understand the last sentence, so I won't respond to it.

Actually, I was referring to commercial as music for SELLING, I don't care who listens to what when. I don't care if what I listen to is popular, alot of people listened to that style back a few years ago, it still wasn't commercial. I don't give a flying fuck whether you are for the commercialism of trance or not. All I was saying was that the majority of people who bitch about the sub-par quality of tunes are right, and you telling them to shut up about it was ignorant. I'm still laughing about the media thing, what the hell is that all about?

Most DJ's have stopped playing it. Yes, I'm into other types of house music, I like experiencing all types of music, instead of completely focusing my attention on one genre. I personally enjoy epic trance as well, I think Armin van Buuren is a great dj, as is Paul van Dyk. Tiesto is a great producer, Oakenfold is a little played, but he gets his message across. I don't care much for Ferry Corsten, though. You can call other types of music boring, it doesn't bother me, it's just displaying your own ignorance for variety.

Well, I definitely agree with whoever started this thread, I think it was dj_cuba!
As a matter of fact I wanted to start a thread like this myself, perhaps not as hostile but with the same idea.
I'm sick and tired also of famous DJ's taking a backlash against (epic/uplifting) trance and everyone saying "it's dead," it's not dead! Epic Trance is by definition more popular because more people can appreciate it and relate to it. Other kinds of electronic music, on the other hand, require a special preparation and "an open mind."

The "connosseurs" can grimace and cringe all they want about what they call "bubbly trance" or "cheese." To me, what THEY call "a stylish palette of hints of sounds and layered textures" is BORING SHIT.

I think there are very few famous DJ's nowadays who are brave enough to come out and say, "I like Epic Trance." Why? Because if you do, you're "not cool" nowadays. Well, that's just too bad, because the quality is really going down with the crap that they spin now.

Don't worry, when I become a DJ (soon enough) I will revive the spirit of epic/uplifting, in fact that will be my style Sasha and Digweed can kiss my ass
