should have read verbatim the question that was directly sumbitted. For example, you tried to re-word the question but at the same time you changed the question entirely.

example of questions you should have read the question only and not improvised.

1.Can you please eloborate on how you select songs to play while observing the crowd? Do you watch the crowd and follow their lead in reguards to how you play or do you try to take the crowd on a "journey" and focus more attention on song selection and flow?

2. Europe, particularly Holand has embrassed EDM. With your extensive traveling and knowledge why do you think the USA has not embrassed EDM as much as other places in your opinion? Is it something cultural? <----- This queation in particular was asked poorly. You changed the question and asked in such a fashion that it made Armin think that Trance does not exist in USA. The question was hoping to address the difference in the Trance Music scene between Holland and USA and why this exist.

Didnt Ask this question

1. Some have argued that the drug scene in EDM has effected it image and as such EDM popularity has suffered. Do you think more dj's need to take a proactive stance on anti-drug use in clubs? what is your opinion?

2. Armin some might say that your one of the most educated dj's in the history of EDM. Can you explain in a bit more detail how you manged to be a world class dj and continue to go to law school?

---------

The questions I summbitted complimented Armin yet than provocated him for a response. Becuase you changed the wording of the questions the questions were not asked correctly and as a result some questions seemed to offend Armin at times.

Next time read the questions verbatim. Wording makes all the diiference in what you asking and how your asking it.

I think the interviewer did a great job. When you conduct an interview it is important to have notes from which to ask questions rather than read questions directly from the piece of paper verbatim, in the order in which they appear on the page. To make an analogy to a dj's set, you have to listen to the responses of the interview subject because the next question on the page might have already been answered or maybe you could think of another question that is better, much like a dj needs to read into a crowd to pick track after track that will keep them entertained.

I don't think Armin was offended at all by the question about trance in the US. The way the question was asked and the way it was worded here isn't much different.

and is just me or is Armin totally in love with Markus Schulz?

Also i'm not sure if I 100% agree with him about his mp3 stance. But i guess that is always a debated issue.

This was a excellent interview. It should have been longer maybe 45 min ( to ask all the questions) ..so many questiosn to ask

I would give a 9/10

not 10/10 because of all the noises going on( i.e. Blender, vacuum, bomb exploding, phone ringing, helicopter landing, etc)

P.S.

I was looking to see Armin response as to why Europe i.e Holland has so many dance events and DJ's whilst USA has nothing like this. However, the question was reworded to ask if treance is popular or not. It was funny to hear Armin cover his ass when Toufas asked about cultural differnces. Armin obviously didnt want to say anything to hurt his american audience.

I thought Toufas did an excellent job gettting some awesome info out of Armin. Good job toufas!!

lol the background noise....
there is a drink in greece called frappe
you take a mixer and mix nescafe cofee with sugar and cold water...it creates a foam and its really nice
thats what they were making :P
and i would make the interview longer but the local promoter was asking armins girlfriend when it would end ,that was funny because after the interview we spent
30 mins while taking pics and signing our stuff. after that you would expect armin to go back to his room but he came to us (we were 15 people-it was a meetup as well) and said: so whats new!
after that someone asked some questions about producing and we armin went on the hotel piano and started explaining chords...it was amazing!
as for the questions....i only had a piece of paper with me that had the questions..and the interview moved along
armins answers,i just couldnt be shooting questions like that.

video of the interview is 111 megs and the video from the party is 140 megs
