If the big names play some strange thing that was produced by someone u've never heard of why feel the need to buy it if u don't like it... just pass on it.

My question to u on that is - - how do anthems become anthems???
At one time they were unknown tunes by unknown artists given to the DJ... only in time have they become so well known - and at one point the anthem would've been the ID or the unknown track in the set. In 2003 u hear veracocha and go mental... in 1997 would u have frowned????

i dont mean they should play em all the time, just the trance i like, what ppl on ta would call anthemic (not because it popular, its that big riff, energetic, nice melody type trance that i like), isnt played by any of the big names, the only bigish names i can think of that play the stuff i really like would be O'Bir, Halliwell and Ordanel

alot of anthems at the mo hold no pull with me (tixarro remix of randy katana - silence for example)

mebbe 6 years of trance listening just makes ppl more picky, heheh

Well, have you considered to fulfill your needs somewhere else? Instead of this place where people come to DEBATE, not ARGUE?

i know what u mean... some of the tunes these days are borrowing stuff from when we got into scene and stuff - but i don't think that can be dissed too much - i mean - if u look back far enough some of the tunes we grew up with that're anthems today borrowed heavily from samples that must've pissed people right off 6 years ago too!

Saw Ornadel on Saturday at Escape Into The Park - he played 1hr but i couldn't really tell much of what he played... it was just 'UK trance' to me... nothing too stand out. Then Tiesto came on str8 after... played mostly his own tracks plus some new ones from his labels - they blew me away. Surprised u mentioned Halliwell there though - yeah the trance he plays i'd agree is anthemic - like epic style... but to me its also very basic - compared to say trance played by Armin and Tiesto. I'm glad there is more than just epic trance these days is my point there.

There was also a harder tent to the side - where all the trance kids in psychadelica were going - so glad that people like that moved to the hard trance scene instead of ruining the tiesto/armin one!
