after looking around at iRiver reviews for the 20 gig HD one, I see the same thing over and over, Complicated to use, bad for left handed people the wya the buttons are arranged, and Horrible sound quality.
It will only support .wma and .mp3 from what i've read and there is a lot of hissing and cracking in the music. I do not have that problem in the ipod. The music that I Encode with AAC sounds exacly like it did on the CD.
""very high noise floor, IPOD MUCH MUCH BETTER"

Pros:__lots of options
Cons:__Ulitmately it is music that one wants to listen to. This product (just like some other iRiver products) has too much hiss and noise UNLIKE IPOD to be taken seriously. If you think you will be listening to the 'features' more and the music less, then by all means buy this. Otherwise, avoid
"WMA files not fully supported"

Pros:__Features, sound quality, remote control, and many other good things they say about this player are quite true.
Cons:__You will have to find WMA files by file/folder name only. (I.e., tags are not supported for WMA files.) This is a big con, especially if you've been rippig CD's with Windows Media Player like I have, as WMP uses a three-layer folder structure AND file/folder names are not always very descriptive.

Pros:__I tried out my friend's player...the only pro I can think of for it is that HE BOUGHT IT and NOT ME!
Cons:__Bad FM reception...poor quality MP3 playback."
If you are buying something for music, make sure the music playback is up to par.
