Even if that was a penalty (and I think it was Ronaldo not Scholes) the damage was already done. The game was decided by an incredibly bad call. and u must admitt that United was clearly more "lucky" with the referees decisions..

If people wanna moan about dodgy penalty decisions with Arsenal they need look no further than good ol' Pires last season against Portsmouth, where if that was awarded as a penalty this unbeaten run would have been finished in single figures

Van Nistelrooy is in trouble for the stamp on cole.... this could be a 5 match ban if the FA do the right thing, ex ref jeff winter was just on sky sports news and he was so right in what he said, this could've done serious damage.. infact i thought cole had broken a bone in his foot with it also. seems united want to kick their way through teams now cos they know in a fair game Arsenal (and chelsea) are better teams now. The treatment Reyes got from the Nevilles was awful also, and even if they should have had 1 penalty, the Rio incident would have changed the match, it was a sending off, and I'd put money on it that Riley would've seen Toure or whoever off had it been the other way round... that guy is a joke and the sooner he's sacked as a ref the better

Ruud should be punished. However, those people crying out saying its a disgrace only need to look to the fixture last season when Ruud got jumped upon by Keown, Toure and the like. Only that time people just said, ah well its only united. Now its like Arsenal are some fair play team. Christ if i didnt see Viera wearing an Arsenal shirt yesterday id mistake him for being the ref seen as he was at his side so much.

Oh no, another year, another Man U-Arsenal controversy...

Anyways, here's my take on several of the flash-points:

1) RVN should get a suspension for almost breaking Cole's leg in two. Nothing really justifies that in a game.

2) From the ref's point of view the Rooney penalty was a clear one (I think they showed replays from his angle and you cant blame the ref for that). What the hell was Campbell doing sticking his leg out like that anyways? It was an open invitation that anyone in the world would have taken. Having said that all you Arsenal dopes (no offence, Man U supporters are dopes too) seem to turn a blind eye to when players like Pires go for Olympic gold.

3) Reyes' rough treatment was nothing out of the ordinary. The Arsenal players knew what they were in for and they simply didn't show up at times. This was never going to be a tea party. Again, it seems a blind eye is cast every time Ronaldo is scythed down.

So there you have it. Soccer is about swings and turns. What goes around comes around. Without that Pires penalty last year they would never have had this unbeaten run so it is only fair in the grand scheme of things that another non-existent penalty ended it.

The arsenal players were punished for last year.. and none of it was physical assault like what happened to Ashley Cole, which is why I hope the FA sort it out. Out of all the teams to beat arsenal though, anyone but united and i'd have been happy cos we won't hear the end of it now. However what Arsenal did was magnificent and they are by far the best team over a season still imho

Had to end sometime and absolutely no shame in losing to United, even though they are the scum. Pitty such a good game was decided by such a poor referee decision, but hey, its been an amzing 18 month ride and credit definitely to Arsenal as I think to go 49 games unbeaten in a league, which is as physical as the English league is a credit in itself.

Arsenal Players including Wenger could also expect suspension from the episode after game...(if it's true)

It just sucks that people are not giving credit where it is due. Clearly Wenger is a manager who has never been gracious in defeat and has never blamed the players for losses. If he looks back at his disciplinary record, arsenal under his reign have over 50 sending offs which holds the record over any club in europe by a long shot. He also forgets that he has a player in his team by the name of Robert Pires whose diving antics have come under scrutiny several times in the past. Seriously last year, he would have fallen if a fly landed on his leg and yet wenger bitches and whines over on dubious call evne though 2 goals were scored and arsenal did not have a single clear attempt on goal. Bottom line is he cant accept the fact that it was manchester united that beat him and i dont think he will be able to rest until the next game at highbury in the spring.
