I like the foam ones. Cheap, easy to stuff a bunch in your pocket, block out more sound than the cheap wax ones, more comfortable (but do muddy the sound more)

As for earplugs, i bought a cheap pair of silicon drummer earplugs from guitar center for ~$12 last year. If i remember correctly, they attenuate noise by ~25db or 37db. Anyways they work really well, and are reusable, the only bad thing is they can feel really weird at first.

Ok... Just found a link. check em out...

These are pretty close to Etymotics ER 20's which I highly recommendhttp://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er20.asp

I hear this high pitched noise if I focus really hard when I'm in bed, not a constant thing, only if I really try I hear it fading lol. But I have had that for as long as I can remember .. it's just normal I think. Even deaf people HEAR something (apparently it sounds like the noise you hear under water).

Hey man, don't those ugly sticks stick out of your ears ? Must be a big setback for your 'game' no ? I'm getting a pair to before the next clubbing trip I take. But I haven't decided where and what to get yet ! They should be hard to see though, I used those fluo types that stick out of your easr like Frankenstein one night .. never again

A couple of years ago I thought I had got it really bad. I had very loud ringing constantly for about 2 months after a night out when I danced too close to the speakers for too long. It was really disturbing as I could hear it all day long no matter what I was doing and no matter how much other background noise there was. It was really distracting at work, and was a nightmare when trying to sleep.
But gradually it seemed to go away. Or maybe I just got used to it? Either way it wasn't very nice thinking I was going to have to put up with it for the rest of my life, so I'm now a lot more careful with my ears when I go out.

Where are these sold and what do they cost?

I've got the same earplugs as you, but it just seems that they aren't enough (Atleast when Paul Oakenfold decided to raise volume by 20 db every once in a while during his set).

Well you can get them in clear if you want.

If you're scared of appearances well... no comment. I can possibly suggest custom fitted earplugs they are almost invisible and don't stick out but cost around 90 Euros.

If you're scared because of your game I really don't think that's going to be a problem... heck you can hear even better with these ear plugs because they diminish outside noise and you can concentrate better on the person in front of you ( like the trick when you push someones ear lobe in and talk into their ear that works great ).

i got them from a music equipment store some year or so ago i think! they cost about 15€ if my memory serves me right! but you can get them at pharmacies too i've heard. and oakie is gay for doing that! no one should mess with the level too much during a set and it shouldn't be so fucking loud to start with anyway!
anyway i'm pretty sure i'll get the custom made ones sometime when i have the money as my hearing is one of the most important things i have. maybe us fintas should order them together if someone else in interested so it would be cheaper. but dunno about that then! they did a grouporder on those from the platinum forum once and got the price down pretty nicely i've read!
