I see your point, but I am taking a very reasonable stance for this FIRST letter. Hopefully I will receive some sort of response which I can use to decide the tone of any future letters, possibily going into votes, rallying support, etc, etc. Moving out of the region (which I plan to do anyways, but I'll say I'll do it cuz of these charges)

There are several facts I have left out of the letter.

ONE, they are introducing these new special event bylaws because of WEMF, which had a privately funded security staff that was effective at securing the site. BUT, the recent Wasaga Beach Blues Festival paid
over $25,000 to the OPP for security... and the cheques bounced. The point? The Blue Festival got little more than a tap on the wrist.

Also, the one neighbour closest to the fairgrounds had called other neighbours, getting them to complain every hour on the hour (according to police reports). I don't know if this is the same guy, but there is someone who lives near the fairgrounds that bitches and moans for ANYTHING going on at the fairgrounds cuz it "scares his cows". Apparently he dumped cow shit all along the fence at the side of the fairgrounds during the GNE (the local county fair)

I think out of town letter writers can address the business they brought to the town. Something like

"I paid $50 for gas at a Clearview gas station, I spent $10 on water at a Clearview convience store, I spent $25 at the Clearview food stands in the festival, etc, etc. Now multiply that by 8000+ tourists who came to this area, ask yourself if you really want to turn away that revenue."

REMEMBER, this issue is not just about the noise charges, it's also about these strict new bylaws they are proposing because of WEMF, when they don't really need new bylaws. It's just grouchy old farmers vs. partying youth.

You see... somebody needs to have the balls to tell this guy to either chin up or move. I wonder who was there first, him or the fairgrounds. Also im sure the fairgrounds had to go through zoning applications if they came after he did so he had an opportunity to speak up about his concerns then. If they still went ahead despite his concerns, well thats democracy.

Either way, complainers do not have a leg to stand on especially if what they are complaining about came before they did.

As for your letter, do it your way if you want but it wont do much good. You need to mention votes and voters if you want to have any impact. Politicians aren't going to listen to feel good stories about parties and how nice it felt to be a performer etc etc. What they listen to are votes and money. Bottom line...Otherwise don't waste you paper.

we need to buy 12 tickets to ibiza and pass it on to those 12 old farts. trust me when they come back, they wont complain and they will apologize to us.

i am of course pissed off about this situation. i am also going to write a message to the authorities. in my neigbourhood, im the only one who blasts loud music, and my windows are always open. the neighbours have not complained yet, and i only crank up the volume between 11am-8pm. my neigbours to my right also blast their music (hip hop). so if i want to shut their music off, i position the front end of my speakers to my windows and blast some trance. after 5 minutes their music shuts off. anyways i hope nothign happens to destiny and the crew. and it suks i couldnt make it to WEMF this year. hope it comes back again.

great, thats all Ibiza needs...

"TURN DOWN THE MUSIC! I PAID GOOD MONEY TO BE ON THIS BEACH SO DAMN ALL YOU THOUSANDS OF PARTIERS EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER QUIET ISLANDS!"

Well at least theyd get a good lesson when everyone over there had the balls to tell them to STFU. Something we never do.
