My first cd rom drive was external and at least a square foot insize... you had to put the cd into a clear case like a minidisc is in and put it in the drive.

Of course this was before windows.

I ran Windows for Workgroups 3.11 on a 386 which I upgraded to a 486... I remember when soundcards were rare... my first soundblaster had more capcitors on than I had ever seen!!!

AOL in 1994... that was scary... first experience in chat rooms and seeing that weird type... "ASL???" "LOL" "WTF" "OMG"

I was so confused.

Good times though... good times.

yeah, thats about where i was too
when i got windows, i had windows 3.11 and everyone else had 3.1
i wasn't sure if i was cool or just 'special'

I remember the 99cent help lines....do they still have them? I imagine with sites like gamefaqs they've completely disappeared, but it'd be cool to call one up.

And yeah, Commander Keen is the shit.

And yes, I remember the 5-inchers.

Yep. I still play the game on a regular basis, and have been doing so since I was six or seven. It may be old, but there's no denying the Godfather of modern gaming.

Oh, and I play Pong quite often, as well.

shhhhhh

I always had computer games, but I used to do a lot more sports, but in a way, i've met people more similar to myself in the way i think and my personal tastes by using the net, it has great advantages, but there's going to be a point when it does become hard, I don't believe letting kids online that much is educational, i was 17 when i first went online, and I'm grateful that i got to grow up offline before coming online.
