uhhhh i never had any really profound effects on salvia. in the uk its legal. its cheap, dirty stuff though. bong it and there are similarities to whiting out on weed. i can panic attack really easy on it and just spin out if i keep thinking about it. which is more often than not quite distressing. spinning out and especially being on the verge of blacking out can be quite an unusual experience. had a crushing weight in my head. very disorientating and i saw a crazy amount of stars and bits of my body felt numb like i was pulling a whitey.
i found shrooms were completely different. panic attacking on shrooms is bad. really bad. salvia is no way near as bad as this or LSD. 1/4 ounce of shrooms and if you spin out you aint coming back for another 8 hours. incredibly distressing. crushing weight in your head. overwhelming rush of thoughts. OVERWHELMING. so much so it hurts. hyper ventilation. heavy limbs. feeling of intense sickness, which if you dwell on makes you sick. i wretched a bit then blacked out i think. i felt conscious the whole time though. very perculier. i got some uncontrollable visuals. intense bright lights, coloured lights (sort of like auras). vision was completely covered in coloured blotches and stars till i couldnt see anything else which is when i bit the dirt. when i couldnt see i lost my bearing of the room. as in if you close your eyes you can point and say 'thats my comp,' thats the sink' etc etc. completely lost any sense of where the walls were and where everyone and everything was in relation to the room. which was scary. couple hours of that, spinning out, coming back and respinning out again and it felt like it was never gonna end. it drives you insane. absolute bliss when the trip begins to wears off. i slept like a log for like 12 hours.
salvia doesnt do anything as intense as that. when you spin out, you sort of white out for a little while, get distressed, sleep it off for an hour until you feel like your brain isnt rushing anymore.
and the good times ive had on shrooms (the hysterics, the circles. i must explain this sometimes. i think about circles and flow in circular motion and circular patterns when i trip on shrooms. i dunno why) ive never had any of that on salvia. never had a salvia hit that was enjoyable actually. so i dont do the stuff. most were a bit distressing and gave me a strong pins and needles sensation in my head and parts of my lower body. but its pretty much over in an hour, even if you spin out completely.
LSD is more intense than both of those. it can either go fantastic or you can panic attack and everything can go really wrong really fast. very hard overwhelming trips.

Very strange. You must be particularly susceptible to psilocybin (found in mushrooms), and are probably one of the few that don't respond highly to Salvinorin A. In general, the two are not easily compared, but for most people, salvia is several orders of magnitude more powerful than either LSD or mushrooms.
Here is one of my favorite Salvia trip reports:

Check out this quote:
| quote: | I suddenly realized that I had no actual memory of ever having lived in any other state of consciousness but the disembodied condition I was now in. So I decided to stop panicking and just relax. After all there was no place to get back to. I was totally convinced that this state of existence was all there ever was.
Then, I suddenly found myself standing in the living room. The effects of the substance were wearing off. All of the confusion dissolved, and I returned to the physical world. I looked around me and the room came into sharp focus. I was glad to be back. But then I saw that something was wrong! This was not my living room. It was the living room of my deceased maternal grandparents. And it was furnished as it was when I was a child, not as it was later in their life. The most extraordinary thing about this was that this was the real world, not a memory or vision, I was really there, and it was all just as solid as the room I’m sitting in now. I had the sudden realization that although I had managed to pull my self back into my body - I had somehow ended up back in the wrong spot in the timeline of my physical existence. I was convinced that I might be stuck in this situation and would have to continue my life from this point in my past. As I panicked and desperately tried to remember where it was that I was supposed to be - I lost awareness of the physical world again, and found myself without a body; lost. Then it happened again. I found myself regaining consciousness in the real world. And, again as soon as I saw everything clearly, I realized that this was not my home, it was a friend of mine’s. Then again I panicked and lost consciousness. This cycle repeated at least 7 or 8 times. Always I would find myself in a familiar room. Some of these places were from my childhood and some were from my more recent past. In this state all the points of time in my personal history coexisted. One did not precede the next. Apparently, had I so willed it; I could return to any point in my life and really be there, because it was actually happening right now.

i know how people can sometimes embellish or describe things in different terms but when you black out this is pretty much what happens. very distressing sensation. complete loss of orientation. and the panic attack lasts quite long (an hour or so). first couple of times i panic attacked on salvia and weed i thought 'when is this gonna end?!?!' it was maddening. after a while of consistantly smoking weed with the occassional white out it was like 'you idiot you've gone and let yourself white out again! and in someone elses house too! fooooool!' and more recently its a bit like 'ahhh bugger, im whiting out again, whoa here comes the cold sweats and laboured breathing, the headrush is coming...yep there it is! ahhhh!.'
i just describe it as spinning out because its something that sometimes happens to me when i bong weed and get agitated or uncomfortable (white out!). although spinning out rarely ends in me blacking out but its deffo on the way. i have spun out quite a few times though.
rarely get to the stage of actually blacking out (think its only been twice) but ive been close on salvia quite consistantly. seeing as this is a really distressing experience to go through i really didnt want to smoke anymore salvia. i mentioned the shroom black out. the weed one i was stupid enough to be convinced by a housemate to double bong the medusa (this big green double chambered ice bong). that pretty much capsized my brain within 10 minutes and the blackout was fairly intense.
