At least Mattsanity attempts some sort of unusual individuality in his preferences, poor as they sometimes are.

Radagast simply repeats the myth of a "trance elite" perpetuated by individuals such as Ishkur, and takes all the cues to universally denounce productions from 1998 and beyond. It's one thing to really know classic trance and support the work of yesterday, but quite another to pretend you do for image and ego.

I think most people who listen to trance for more than a year eventually have an "epic backlash phase," where they feel as though publically rejecting melodic builds is the most clever and fashionable thing in the world. This usually manifests itself in an obsession to blame all that is wrong with trance on the the 1998-99 boom, while blindly lavishing praise on anything older.

Sometimes, it reminds me of the temporal narcosis as featured on Star Trek: Voyager. Hindsight sure clears things up, eh? It's kind of funny that people living in the days of the Renaissance didn't actually call it that, and how the Golden Age of sci-fi and, heck, porn, wasn't recognized until way after the fact. There is romanticization going on. I don't mind personal preference as long as it's reasoned out with respect to differing opinions, mwahaha.

Oh yeah, about Ishkur's Guide... please, PlEaSe, PLEASE REMEMBER TO READ THE DISCLAIMERS. If you treat it more like Saturday Night Live than C-Span, you may be more comfortable.

How can I be "trance elite" when I enjoy many types of trance, as well as every other genre of EDM.

I like plenty of trance productions post-1998

Why would I want image and ego on an internet forums board?

So you're telling me it's fashionable for me to be the only person on these forums who publicly agrees with Ishkur. Maybe your definition of fashionable is different from mine.

As opposed to the obsession to blame all that is wrong with trance on armin van buurens asot radio show, while blindly lavishing praise on tech-trance.

Maybe when I put artists down I should say something like "tiesto and ferry corsten suck". Perhaps when I slag epic trance I should make a valid point like "epic trance sucks balls" so I don't get flamed, because when someone gives some kind of logical reason for not liking ET the tranceheads realize that they either can't disprove it or don't have a better explanation. As a result, instead of making any points on the music to defend it, they resort to telling me that what i'm thinking is wrong with haughty rhetoric and false opinions.

I think Gouryella deserves a decent burial anyways. I dont know if anyone else has said this as i didnt feel much like reading this whole thread, but I cant imagine any more new Gouryella remixes being about style, class, or skill but rather money.

iam kinda sick of hearing and seeing this beef between ferry and tiesto
i mean i think they are friends but they dont really support each other
tiesto dont play any ferry tracks and ferry dont play any tiesto tracks
they both now are going the "producer" route and playing about 75% of their own tracks in their gigs, i dont know why they are doing this there soooo much good music out there
i just wish they both would put these rumors of their beef about gouryella and come back in the studio and make some amazing records that will blow everyones mind

no. i think an album would be a bad idea in this case. albums should be done by the artists own choice, not by request.

Now that i think about it, these guys maybe have a point...
i mean you can see Ferry and Tiesto don't support each other and the only reason they might be at a studio together again is because they feel all the buzz and demand about a Gouryella comeback
and they wouldn't mind doing acouple more extra bucks from it...
Tiesto gone commercial a long time ago, it would be harder for me to think that Ferry will do this for money, but it can be.
and if there will be a new Gouryella track or album, i think it deffinetally should bring a different sound and not try to reminisce about the classic one - It will only leave the fans with bad memories from Gouryella, i mean maybe some things are better left alone after all.

I would say its crap. Not everyone likes generic bullshit trance you know

I don't know what you're trying to do here, but you have a right for your own opinion...
mine will still always be that Out Of The Blue is one of the greater classics and Ferry is one of the best Producers ever

The thing is Ishkur just doesn't like modern trance, and his tongue-in-cheek exaggerated attacks on the genre are made to make people laugh. You however, are cutting the satire and taking his word as lore. And it's pretty apparent you're view on music is flawed, as shown when I handed you your ass in the 98 vs 99 thread.

I can accept you don't like epic trance, and even accept your reason why. But your posturing and arrogant displaying of that opinion at every opportunity is grating severely.

I don't base any of my opinions on Ishkur's Guide To Electronic Music, friend. If you think he just doesn't like modern trance, you're not thinking hard enough.

I need you to write what really happened between Ferry and Tiesto in the whole Gouryella situation and why did they split up, and is it true that they are planning to work together again and make a new Gouryella track ?

Nope, YOU need to write what really happened...

We might just as well start writing the entire story for you.

Sorry to bitch at you like this, but I think you might do some research yourself as well...
