Wow that final scratch looks AWESOME.

i'm downloading atomix, seems like a toy to me..

for me VTT works great, I don't like all this, push one button to match the pitches stuff..

there is no skill or finese in that.

I just downloaded the trial version of atmomix mp3.

LAME!

I did like a few things, notably the waveform display and how it shows when one song is too loud. but the software itself is a toy, not professional at all.. I am sticking with VTT for now.

I have fantasies about developing the perfect MP3 mixing program.

I'd like to see a dual waveform display, in 3d, with time x frequency x amplitude.

Exclamation I know!!!....

Sorry I made u download something u would dislike so much!

I always DJ with vinyl, and have only recently started playing with MP3 because the music is so readily available and easy to get hold of!

I have downloaded VTT again and have played with its features (it's actually relatively realistic apart from the precision control u have over a decent record!) and have rigged myself up a stereo splitter. I'm quite impressed with its features, yet its not really DJing in the long run is it!?
It is, however, more realistic than anything else I've played with.
<-good choice!

Basically, if that Final Scratch becomes standardised (and possibly a little cheaper....), it will be REVOLUTIONARY!!

Oh, do I wait on that day....

it's OK, it's good to know what is out there..

I also downloaded traktor, it seems good, but I don't understand it.
same with mix meister, both of them confuse the heck out of me.

VTT is a simple program, that's why I like it.
I only wish it had metering, the only way to tell how loud the songs are is by approximating with your ear, I'd like to see two bouncing meters

it's even better with 2 soundcards, and you can use an external mixer with it.

so can traktor I guess, but it's too complicated for me to figure out at present.

Thumbs up

When playing around, I use VTT... it is simple but has all the features that I need, really. A lot of mixing programs have a bunch of fancy looking skins n' crap, which really doesn't make it any better. Plus, I can play more than 2 tracks at a time... always fun
Unfortunately, the guy who developed VTT hasn't been at it for a long time... v1.85 has been planned for like a year now. The guy is too busy and needs some help... if anybody is really good with C++, there is a job in it, as described on his site.

However, I find myself drooling at the Traktor demo... many useful features. I espically like the 'no delay' effects. With VTT and other mixers there is a ~1-2 second delay from when you change the bass level to when it kicks in... you can adjust some of the audio out porperties but then VTT skips a lot. Although traktor doesn't really take ANY talent with its autoBPM matching stuff.. you click 2 buttons and its mixed perfectly... you really don't even need headphones.

As far as I can tell, getting the full version of traktor means buying it... which I won't, being the bedroom DJ that I am, there is no point. I've looked around or warez sites, newsgroups, and IRC... no luck... if anybody has the full version... and could give me a copy... I would be quite indebted...

While lacking the several thousands of dollars that would be needed to buy decent turntables, a mixer, and a worthwhile record collection, I think mixing on a computer with 'free' software and mp3s is a viable substitute.

But if I had money and time, I would love real turntables, etc. Man, vinyl is sooo much fun
