If seeing people around the states protesting AGAINST our retaliation isn't bad enough, there's idiots like you saying we deserve it. I just wonder what is going on in the minds of you people doing these things. Yeah, don't retaliate and let them think that they can get away with acts like these...because if we don't retaliate they will think this way, and they will slowly pick away at America with more attacks trying to destroy us. Not you, or me even knows the full extent of what's really going on anyways. If put in a percentage, I bet that the public only knows no more than ten percent of what is going on in this ordeal. We only know what has happened and what the government want's us to know. I have a good friend that's a high ranking officer in the military and he told me once that "You wouldn't sleep if night if you knew what I know about what goes on in the world". I pray for him and everyone else that is standing up for america because there will be more attacks both ways, and in the end America will stand tall like she always has.

Never have I read such a completely and utterly contradictory post. Come on man, read your own post again, and then again-- you totally contradicted yourself. Please don't let me or anyone feel the need to point out all the abjurations.

Wow. Let me get you started on a list that refuses to end to this day:

-- Iran-Contra
-- Vietnam
-- Cuba (Battista AND Castro.. look 'em up)
-- Nicaragua
-- Sudan (Don't remember Clinton's authorization of the cruise missile attack in 1998? Yeah, that's right-- the pharmaceuticals factory which had been declared by US Intelligence to, beyond a reasonable doubt, have been producing biological\chemical warfare weapons was destroyed-- LEVELLED-- and many were killed and injured. Funny how the Lewinsky scandal caught public tension at just the right time-- this time being immediately after the Sudan bombing, at which point it was publically admitted that the horrible pharmaceuticals factory producing weapons of biological warfare was a fucking aspirin factory, but this time, it WAS beyond a reasonable doubt.)
-- Japan (Think Pearl Harbour wasn't masterminded by Roosevelt? Ooh, it's reading time! http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/6315/pearl.html).

I could go on and on, but there's MORE than enough background information\documentation to be discovered and comprehended before any more needs to convince you that the US is single-handedly responsible for millions of deaths in "uncivilized\third world" countries yearly.

Then again, you started off by making it out to be that the US was practically innocent and but a victim, and then contradicting yourself by relaying the message your good friend told you.

Rule of life: Question things. Let no source\author\leader\dog\hamster\politician\journalist\etc. ever, EVER tell you what's "going on." There are so many interests involved that the implications of events as serious as those unfolding now MUST be questioned.

First off, props to The Greek for some open-minded and more informed posts. Good to see not everyone eats up CNN and the like's bullshit.

As per that article by Mr. Ansary, it's pretty ridiculous-- are you people actually even reading it?

quote:
There is no doubt in my mind that these people (taliban) were responsible for the atrocity in New York.

Shit, I wonder who an "Afghan-American" is gonna hold responsible for such terror! Gimme a break. Maybe this caring, culturally-inclined Afghan-American will take a look at the REALITY of how Bin Laden is nothing but a figurehead for higher powers, his perspectives wouldn't be so farcical.

Now, I'm sure most-- if not all-- of you are aware that Bin Laden was a tycoon of the good ol' family oil business and was financed and trained by the CIA and finally instituted within Afghanistan to "drive the soviets out" (read: lay claim to the land and export its vast resources. What does Afghanistan have? Oh, I dunno, maybe: Natural gas, petroleum, coal, copper, chromite, talc, barites, sulfur, lead, zinc, iron ore, salt, precious and semiprecious stones and more opium than the Burmese Golden Triangle). Now, does anyone here realize that Bin Laden has been the subject of destruction on the part of Bill Clinton as well during his Presidency? Clinton bombed the shit out of that little aspirin factory in Sudan, hoping to forge a connection in the public's mind that Bin Laden had been using his family business' old connections in Egypt to move biological\chemical weapons from that factory over to his conglomerates in various Saudi establishments (and I bet that bogus would've been believed, too).

Now, take those few facts in mind and realize that the US was ALREADY planning on INVADING AFGHANISTAN-- a plan that reached media announcement as of JUNE OF THIS YEAR (2001). Don't believe me? Read http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/wo...00/1550366.stm, and notice this quote from this very article from the BBC: "Niaz Naik, a former Pakistani Foreign Secretary, was told by senior American officials in mid-July that military action against Afghanistan would go ahead by the middle of October." Wow, some coincidence, huh! What timing them 9/11 attacks came, and what great evidence to get the people enraged at bin Laden some more!

Oh wait, there is no evidence.

Oh, except for the Quran and Arabic flight manuals in the rental car found THE DAY AFTER (kinda makes me wonder how the FBI didn't find a signed letter by bin Laden himself wishing the hijackers good luck on their mission) as well as testimony from a bartender of the Islamic hijackers' behaviour at a bar the night before. Yep, terrorists that carefully planned an event of this magnitude for an estimated 2-3 years prior to the 9/11 date itself-- including living daily life in a western world they obviously despised, enrolling in and graduating from commercial flight school and practicing Islam to the fullest-- surely would have been the ones to be piss drunk and cursing aloud about their plans the night before the attack. Islam IS a religion of universality, peace and virtues. Do Muslims drink? Do Muslims goto bars? Do Muslims leave their fucking Quran behind at the bar?! Do crocodiles fly?

Not to mention the revelations of a few days back: http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/wo...00/1556096.stm. FBI Chief Robert Mueller ADMITTED on Sep. 20 AND on Sep. 27 that the FBI has NO legal proof of the identities of the hijackers, and hence, CANNOT fathom-- let alone VALIDATE-- the connections between these hijackers and ANY terrorist group, let alone bin Laden himself.

Now since I choose not to follow the herd of sheople, I'm sure I will be ridiculed as a Laden-lover, wacko, idiot, anti-establishment goof and what have you. I despise bin Laden-- I despise him for his oppression of Afghanistan people and for his bastardization and defamation of Islamic teachings-- but I also despise the despicably hypocritical motives of America. Sure, Laden is indeed a criminal, but he is also one who evaded the leash of US Intelligence, and now this error must be "rectified," if you see the path.

And on an accompanying note, no I am not Muslim or religious whatsoever. Mind control's the last thing a free-thinker needs

yeah brownitus...u've raised sum good points...i agree to sum but not all of them...

first off, it is indeed true that the US has dun many nasty things, and is by no means "innocent"...

in your second post u implied that there is sum kind of conspiracy going on....and i also believe that there is far more to this than we read or hear about...

have u ever heard of Operation Northwoods?? during the 1960s, top US defence personnel (members of the JCS-Joint Chiefs of Staff) actually contemplated launching terrorist attacks against the US BY the US to make it appear as if the CUBAN government was responsible...they needed the public's support to launch an all out invasion of Cuba...luckily none of their plans materialized...my source is the book "body of secrets" by james bamford...no, he is not a conspiracy theorist...check it out at amazon.com...

so i guess there MIGHT be sumthing like this going on...who knows..

yes, i also dont believe that stuff about the arabic flight manuals and stuff...just too hard to believe...

ok now these are the things i have issues with...

regarding that announcement about the planned US attack against afghanistan which supposedly made it to the media in june...i find it strange how i (or any1 else) didn't even hear about it until NOW, after the attacks...(or maybe i just wasn't following the news closely enuff...heheh)...just as we had never heard the US say anything about a "vision of a palestinian state" even tho they had had it "all along", as they're now saying...i think they simply pressured the pakistanis into saying that NOW so as not to make it seem that the US had INDEED become too complacent, which in turn caught us off guard...

i saw ur sig and remembered a quote from george orwell as well:

"during times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act"...hmmm...sumthing to think about...

peace

In my humble opinion, ,the key is to not be "invaders" of Afghanistan, but "liberators". The majority of people there only support the Taliban from fear. Many in their hearts still support their exhiled ruler what's-his-name. Out of fear of an attack many top Taliban military leaders and the men they lead are supposedly ready to rebel and change their allegiance. So it seems to me that if properly handled ie we promise not to step on the toes of surrounding countries ie Iraq, Iran etc, we don't indiscriminately bomb the rubble and/or kill civilians, on the way out we hand them a government that they support, we offer them a financial aid package to rebuild the economy the Taliban have raped etc. Then maybe we can waltz in, have him handed to us on a platter, and we can waltz back out smelling like a rose. I know there's no details. I'm not a politician. I might me an idealist. I could me way off base. Just my 2 cents worth.
