They are the essence of progressive trance, as far as I'm concerned. I separate progressive, from progressive trance. Some of the guys mix the two up, but I wouldn't call Hernan a progressive trance dj, or even Digweed. Digweed might drop 1 or 2 progressive trance tracks in a set. It seems like people think of melody and trance as synonomous. Does anyone agree with me that certain melodies are pure progressive and others are trance or progressive trance? For example, Sasha's "Wavy Gravy". Highly melodic, but not trancy at all. What do you guys think?

Edit - BTW, I know Wavy Gravy is breaks, just in case someone was gonna jump on that. It's still prog breaks.

Progressive house, or just progressive. To me those are fairly synonomous, but progressive, as a genre, is more wide. I don't consider progressive trance to be a part of the genre I call progressive.

To me, I simply refer to the subcategory as "Progressive" and nothing more. Certain songs have the deeper, more melodic elements of trance and other songs have the gritty, more grooving elements of house. That's how I go about classifying dj's/producers within the "Progressive" area.

I'm not sure whether or not he's been mentioned, but how about Steve Lawler. I really didn't know much about the guy, other than he was tribally prog and he made a great remix of Trisco - Muzak, but since then I bought his track "Lost", which is great, and listened to a fantastic live set of his. Good progression throughout the set and sick beats.

Steve Lawler is a WICKED DJ/Producer! He definitely creates and plays progressive tribal music! I consider Steve one of the best tribal DJs/producers out there today!

Yes, he is a damn good tribal dj. I think his G.U. NuBreed compilation is total proof of that. Also, since we're on the topic of tribal dj's/producers, I would also like to add Saeed & Palash to the list. Their compilations, Tide Edit: 07 and Addictive Beats are class.
