Very true, too. Forgot to take that into consideration.

I can't believe I missed this post. Don't listen to Dave T!!!! He has never seen Mauro, so he has no clue what he is talking about. I GAURANTEE to you that once you see Mauro, you'll realize what he is all about!!!
Ferry, PVD, Tiesto, AVB... they used to be my idols. Then the day I saw Mauro, EVERYTHING changed!!!! No joke lol!!! He has his own unique style, which I respect & enjoy alot!! I have seen Mauro about 5 times already, and EACH time, he plays nothing but SICK shit!!!! Not even one "boring" set!!!
And Dave, if you think Tiesto is high energy... you ain't seen NOTHING yet!!!!

Hey all, this is my first post on TA, When i saw tatgirl's name mentioned on this thread i thought she may appreciate this post(she told me i would post here one day). We had many conversations about how sick mauro is as well(some, ironically on a weekend we went to see ferry in toronto), mauro was one of my favorites as well. First time i saw Mauro was at a giant event(2001) downtown(can't remember the name) after they were kicked out of circus and he was amazing. I have heard many live sets of his before then but he was slamming track after track that night and i had the best time. This is where i agree with msjulia and djwoody, mauro WAS sick.
here is where i agree with davet, now if you hear 1 hour of him you can go home as the rest sounds the same. He is just too monotonous now but I also side with the mauro lovers, that ferry has played the same set for 2 years.
If i had to choose, i'd choose ferry, he has more energy on the decks, Mauro used to go nuts but now? Though i have not seen him since last year, he doesn't seem as into it as he used to be. Sorry for the lengthy post.

I'm not "believing" DaveT... I know from first-hand experience what great performances Ferry can put on... and so far, no DJ I've seen has been able to match those expectations -- none! And Julia, no need to get harsh on Dave, he has his opinions, too -- you don't have to bash the bejesus out've him. And unlike most of you guys on TA-board... I don't take biases or sides... I'm attracted to pure quality. Believe me, I know what Mauro's all about... I've seen multiple video clips and heard countless singles / livesets of his.. and I know he can bring the house fucking down.
P.S. You can make fun of any of the big-named jocks, AvB, Tiesto, PvD, I could care less. But when you insult Ferry, that's when it gets personal, capice ? When you insult the great one, you insult me and the greatness that man has brought to the biz. I know you're a Ferry-wh0re yourself, so why lower yourself and insult him simply to defend your favorite DJ, Mauro, in an argument? Why can't we love them both equally?

Enough of your ridiculous comments. Mauro isn't boring. You just have different taste. So go stay with your trance crap, please.

Someone is on the WRONG message board.... this is tranceaddict, not crapaddict.

And nice to see some of my 'recruits' on here (woody & chico
As far as Mauro is concerned, I really think he is hit or miss a lot of the times. Having observed 1st-hand his N. American career from the beginning (& some across the pond too), the last few times I've seen him leave something to be desired. Altho he did redeem himself his last visit a few months back in terms of dropping some amazing tracks, I really find that he's focused more on getting wasted during his performances, and it shows. Yes, he can play some good tunes, but he can make some major trainwrecks. Technically, there are far better techno dj's out there. Mauro's just the most 'mainstream', so he reaches the masses. No matter what, they'll go crazy for him. I've seen it firsthand from sets I find boring and technically crap, but the crowd is so enamored with him, they seem to be blind and deaf. He's coming here next week along with Gaetano Parisio, while in the adjoining room (yet separate entrance fee) is Chris Liebing, who is the MASTER!!! Its gonna be hard to choose (even tho there may be wristbands available to purchase so that u can attend both events), because its also the same nite as another annual party held on a farm with purely local talent, but its always such a good vibe....
decisions, decisions......
**And having seen Ferry just 2 weeks ago, I can tell u all that he's playing REALLY well now. Sure, he's still dropping some of the guaranteed crowd pleaser tunes like Punk & Rock your Body, but OMG he played SO MANY WICKED TRACKS!!!! If he repeats that over in LA, u wont be disappointed.
