Next time you call things 'progressive', be sure you come with the actual progressive stuff and not only remixes! And if you say that the original versions are actually progressive (which I think you would), I say that those tracks are thus not good enough on it's own. Which concludes to the fact that progressive tracks are often not good on their own!

Now waiting for the flaming to come up...

Kick me

What the fuck are you talking about. Going by that your saying every single track that has had a remix is crap in its original form therefore pretty much every single track ever made was shit to start with before a remix??? So trance tracks like Universal nation, 1998, communication, 7 cities etc all suck in there original form then???

i love trance and progressive just as much but i think by playing progressive (or harder style) is the only way you can be original in the sound your putting out and not sound like every other trance dj out there. Look at the tracklists for most trance dj sets on here. Same tracks over and over again, but progressive djs each have a different sound and different tracks all the time making each set unique somewhat.

Each to there own. Music is like politics and religion. You either like it or not. im not a fan anymore of ASOT or ANOT. Too much cheese and not enough originality. there is only so much anthem trance one can take.

In these bizarre days, people are more and more pulled back to the good old uplifting! And wtf is wrong with proper cheese? - If you compare ONLY the musical value (varieties!!) of let's say: "Milk Inc. - The Sun Always Shines On TV" with progressive bullcrack like: "Tilt - The World Dosen't Know (Ozgur Can Remix)", you come to the conclusion that the first one is actually a SONG!

Do whatever you want, you costum-name freakz! You're only fooling yourselves!

prog trance has its place in a "trance" night. Love it or hate it, you have to warm up to melodic/epic whatever you think it's called.

You can't start bashing out the latest hugest most epic trance hits to a crowd who have just gotten out of the shower and settled in with a drink at the club. In reality yeah you can do this, but where do you end up after a huge epic set from the word go!? Either Happy happy hardcore yeah.... or home after the first two dj's. Think about it.

I believe the main point of this discussion is the inexperience of some dj's and the way they have pigeon holed themselves into a particular style. If that's what you like great, good for you.

I enjoy mixing all elements into my sets. Keeps it interesting for me and most importantly the crowd. It also allows me to be unique and diverse in what I do - stand out from the rest.
