Yankees won 854 games in the 80's. Red Sucks won 821. Both won zero championships.

Yanks will win tonight 4-2. Schilling will shut up.

I'm pumped reading the freaking extendo sports section. Let's get it on!

Ya what im saying is that both sides overdo.

Bottom Line:Both teams are VERY good and this will be a battle to the death and honestly the Red Sox are a better team overall than they were last year and the yankees pitching is definitely not as good as last year so we will see how that evens things up

Red Sox honks always say it doesn't matter with history because their history sucks. Tell that to the Astros if history didn't mean anything when it was the their first series win. Or the Cubs who always talk about how long since they won. History doesn't mean anything? Yeah whatever....

History has NOTHING to do with the present. You mean to tell me that because the Yankees won the WS in 1961, they have a better chance to win this series in 2004 than the Red Sox do? That's ridiculous. The Mets have won 2 WS since 1962. The Red Sox have won zero. Who is the better team? I guess it's the Mets because, in a 42 year time span, they won 2 WS while the Red Sox won 0. That is the most ridiculous argument people make in sports. Yeah, the Yankees franchise has been great. The best in baseball. But that has NO bearing on what happens THIS year. If that were the case, then wouldn't the Celtics be winning more world championships? Past means nothing in sports.

i think the yanks will lose game 1
they have lost game 1 of like the past few seris
shilling will be on point
game 2 i think pedro will do ok but the yanks will win
after that i dont know
all i know is that the yanks are the underdogs in this seris even tho they got home field advantage and a possibilty of no mariano and el duque, if the yanks can still beat boston without those pitchers
then that will be amazing and even boston fans will be in shock
yanks all the way!!!!!! 1918 woop woop

Obviously if it's not your opinion than it's ridiculous. Nice argument. "It is not my opinion, thus ridiculous." I disagree with your opinion but I don't call it ridiculous because we can have varying points. History has nothing to do with present? I totally disagree. Losing to the same team year after year never plays into the mind of a team? The Rams losing to the 49ers 18 straight times didn't get into their heads? As Ken Norton said at the time "same sorry ass lambs." Believe me, I know it did, because the players said so! "I'm tired of getting beat by them again and again." Or how about Schilling himself saying some teams are scared of the Yankees just because of who they are. They have the doubt in the minds. How about Damon saying that the A's team of 2001 started thinking "We're about to beat the defending World Champion Yankees." Boom, they choked. NO, don't tell me that history has NOTHING to do with it. BULL SHIT it does. Things can change, yes, that's true and it could very well be this year. So, we'll see shall we.

Yes, teams are judged by championships they won. Just ask the "team of the 90's" the Atlanta Braves.

Not simply 1961 but having won in 1961, 1962, 1965, 1977, 1978, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 has something to do with it YES!

It's funny how Shamez214 you have been battling me lately. I wonder how you are in person.

I have been on both sides. Being a Rams fan, I know how much the previous losses (history) weighed on the current team. I could see that doubt creep on them sometimes like "here we go again." The most satisfying day in the history of a Red Sox fan could be this year if they beat New York. In 1999, during the Rams first season with Kurt Warner, etc. and they laid a serious flogging on the 49ers scoring like 49 points (after losing 2 times a year for 9 straight years). It was the soooooo nice.

Being a Yankee fan now, I'm that 49er fan that was always gloating. Things could change but it isn't happening this year!!!

Faulke the Yankees.

I think when we beat the yankees at fenway park and take the series we should chant out "1918". Kinda like when the North defeated the South at Gettysburg they chanted out "Fredricksburg" the major battle they had lost.

Ummm... if they beat the Yankees, they still have to win the World Series. Otherwise Boston fans will look like morons.

I'll argue to the death about baseball. On the computer. On a phone. And in real life. Though in real life I get very frustrated when people make points that don't make sense or are irrelevant to TODAY.
