i'll have to disagree a little here and hope this kind of interviews don’t become popular. imo it's a huge disrespect the way the questions were asked, and even more when the interviewer is clearly not well informed.

as you can see in the first two questions, Armin evaded the topic and didn't say anything about the “lame-formulic-boring-trance” but he answered something about how there are other genres produced by Armada. and the question about he has sold out? WTF? He is Armin van Buuren not some cheese pop artist FFS, he is the world’s # 3 DJ and everybody knows that even if it was true, nobody would ever accept it... totally unnecessary question.

it is because of this kind of disrespects why there is this eternal press-artist battle and although Armin answered like a gentleman, i'm sure he felt really uncomfortable with the unnecessary questions from some ignorant interviewer whose intention was clearly focused on personal destructive criticism and hided behind the “some people say...” coward kind of questions.

hey TTA instead of masking your obvious hate towards AVB with those first two questions why didn't you just ask him why he sucks and plays and produces such cheesy tracks while you're at it

good interview, i liked how the questions were straight forward and how he answered them. you noted in teh top that he is responsible for a universal religion track. i also noticed this in his discography too a while back. does this track really exist cuz i was never able to find it

Well, can't complain about the questions. It was a personal interview, which leads to opinion. I mean c'mon, he uses "U" instead of "you".

I can ask whatever questions why heart so desires or anyone on my site wants me to ask and I'll continue going about my interviews that way. I obviously know far more than you, so your feeble attempt at telling me that I'm not up on my facts is null and void. This was the first interview with Armin, where the interviewer has not kissed ass and frankly I'm not going to kiss any ass, you want to see ass kissing with the same boring questions, go read trance.nu. I'll continue asking my questions, no matter how blunt or brutal they may be. If deejays get offended at these questions, they should obviously not do interview and they are obviously in the wrong business. As I stated many times over the years, I have the guts to do things that most of you only dream about and I'm not going to stop. Love me or hate me, you still will read the interviews and I'm going to start asking more tough questions to deejays. It is about time that interviewers and writers pulled their lips off the labels and deejays asses and actually accomplished what they are supposed to do, give their audience, what it wants. My audience wants tougher questions in interviews, so I'm going to give them what they want.

and to completely finish this discussion on my part, you base how great a DJ is, on a popularity contest like the DJ Mag 100?. So let's say if Armin was 78th, then I could ask him about selling out? Give me a break dude, I'll ask what I want to whom I want and if the artist wants to dodge the question or not answer it, then fine but at least I tried. I know the world is thinking, what's next? how about Tiesto?
