Don't try to mix it with religion. It's bound to fail at this early stage of life. All you're left with is looking for different sources for some good opinions. Reading those books will widen your horizons. More knowledge will be obtained. However, I doubt Black Elk Speaks will help you. But if you like the beliefs of the early natives, as told by a someone that is not entirely native, then that's your thing.

Don't be so eager to find answers to questions that maybe were meant to be unanswered. You will eliminate a lot of pressure. The goal is to live with the right amount of pressure. Don't try to carry a big rock with you because it won't let you see the path ahead. You need to see where you're going.

Remember this: From the day we are born we start to die. It's a pessimistic way of looking at it but it's also realistic. We live, fuck a few people(as it is the nature of any human being), and finally die. Looking for answers will only lead you to fucking yourself, meantally that is.

There has been some good responses on this topic, firstly I think everyone agrees that everyone has a similar perception on life. Imagine if Humans never Evolved from birth , we would never grow and never learn how to survive on our own of course we have evolution of mankind the most important thing to ever happen to our lifes.

Personally My life consist of Love, Friendship & Health, Finance is not a major part of my life, Of course money helps personally Id rather be poor and happy , the rich and pissed off.

Aslong as I have Trance music and time to drink beer and see my g/f and family and friends im the happiest guy in the world.

sorry my friend, you're looking for meaning in something where there is no meaning. everything you see around you is a result of random acts and mutations.

think of a rock that falls off a cliff. why does it do it? what is meaning? is their anything to it? not really. its just a random physical act.

think of humans the same way. why did certain certain clumps of cells in the early universe survive and others not? it just happened for some physical reason. nothing more to it.

if your question is why does everything happen the way it did? there's no f'n answer. no one knows or will ever know. anyone that claims to know is an f'n liar. why torture yourself? its just a phase.

if you MUST read something, look at my recommendation in the book thread in the political discussion forum. also check out a buddhism in translation by henry clark warren (i always confuse the guy's name) its classic text that i discovered in college accidently. also really good is the dhammapada , the translation by karen armstrong (if you can get a copy b/c i think it was a small printing. he he i snagged three copies) mostly for her introduction. smile.

Re: What is Life to you? What is your perception on Life, and everything?

Your question negates the answer.

A life truly lived is one where you find your own answers: not where you choose to have faith in answers someone else came up with.

It is when you abandon that struggle to create your own purpose, your own perspective, your own values and beliefs and you simply adopt someone else's that your life becomes genuinely meaningless.

I could give you those answers which I have found for myself, but they are incomplete and they are mine, not yours. Life is your project to create your own answers: keep your ears open but your mind closed! The open mind is often drafty and the isolated one is usually most unique.

Your life is your journey: don't let yourself be dragged in someone else's wake.

As much as everyone elses views and ideas make sense, Im looking at going with Arbiter truthfully. In a way, going with what he is saying is kind of contradicting what he is saying .. I suppose, although im not sure how to explain. Anyway, I do think taking this in as my desired choice of lifestyle gives me the most freedom in life, and allows me to kinda take on a case by case basis. Ill let it all come to me instead of searcing for an ultimate answer. Still, I am going to continue meditating and reading these insightful books. I doubt this is the end to my search, but rather, a break.
