Even in Europe the good stuff is very hard to find, but it's sure to be a hell of a lot cheaper than here in the States.

that post was from august 2003, then i did have another bottle of absinthe, and then i had finished that bottle. in november 2003 i bought a bottle when i went to czech republic. now i look at it on my desk and i really dont want to drink it. i guess my tastes have changed within one year, who knows *schrug*
i dont quite understand your question, but i hope that answered it.

You answered it fine. Czech absinthe is nasty.

From the second link that I posted,
quote:
Czech absinthe, according to most absinthe reviews, tastes like alcohol-drenched mouthwash and one may even see leaves of plants floating at the bottom of the bottle. Forget about the other so-called French absinthes (made with mugwort, not wormwood). Most of the other advertised European absinthes (like the Danish) either have negligible thujone or other chemical components meant to deceive the senses

Basically, you had some good absinthe (you called it "yummy") - and then you had some bad (Czech). If you tasted some nasty beer would you say that ALL beer was nasty? I doubt it.

both absinthes are/were czech. i havent had that many absinths to compare. i called it yummy, well why i dont know. i think what was more 'yummy' was the effects of it; perhaps i was stoned while i wrote that post, which at that point ANYTHING is yummy.....but anyways thanks for digging up my past comments on how i feel about absinth, for the record i now think of it as a nasty taste, perhaps if a thread comes up again on absinth, i will, at that point, find it yummy again . (i am female, which means i am entitled to change my mind as often as i like )

Haha. It's cool.

Actually, I was looking for one of my old posts regarding Absinthe. The forum search is down so I Googled it and it came up with that old thread, among others. You have to love the internet.

That's the broadest and most uninformed generalization that I've heard all week.

With good Absinthe, your thoughts often become more lucid after a couple of drinks. It's not like anything else in the world.
