Please explain to me how using CDs somehow disrespects the DJs before us who only had vinyl. Please. I want to know. Seriously, I do, tell me.

Thats why I reccomend 2 CDJ-1000s and a Vestax 275. He can scrape by with that if he shops around, and if his parents are buying it for him they will probably round it out for a few extra hundred if they have to.

Just tell them that you're buying absolute quality equipment that will last you a good long time (which is the truth).

Read the rest of my post mate. Look at the prices I quoted.

If he wants to import from the US, thats a crapload in shipping and import duties that will blow his budget again. Not to mention he then needs voltage and power point converters.................
He definitely needs to buy in Aus (easier anyway), and those are normal prices above, hence HE CAN'T GET THAT FOR 3000 here.

Lets look at numbers AGAIN!
2x1000s and a PCV 275:
2x 1900 + 900 (and that'd be cheap, its closer to 1000) = $4700

Now tell me, cos obviously I'm not as smart as you, is 4700 larger or smaller than 3000?

btw, DJ OO Tommy, check your pm box.

Then why can't he buy it from an aus dealer?

$1900 aus is $1,383 U.S dollars. Standard retail price for the CDJ-1000 is $1,150, and I can find it for $1000 or less in about 5 minutes of looking around. Do your retailers just love to jack the price or what?
