you should expect to hear music louder than anywhere else.

If you are sensitive ask for earplugs.

End of story

Stop wondering, start wearing.

The foam ones you buy @ the drug store are better than nothing.

it could also be that your hearing was less sensitve to begin with.

some people say that cant hear distortion at the guv, i know i can.

the sound which comes from the speakers is clear, but when all the speakers are put together and the way the room is set up, there is distortion in certain areas. I usually try and stay out of the "box" which they have built with the speakers, otherwise its just too loud.

Got my hearing tested a year ago, my low frequency range is borderline needing hearing aids, my high frequency range is well above normal. Audiologist said the only way someone can have a curve like that is due to hereditary hearing loss - not exposure (exposure damages across all frequency ranges).

Got fitted for custom formed 20 db and 25 db earplugs. Wear them all the time. Cost $200, but my work insurance paid for it. They are well worth it.

Before I got my hearing tested I always wondered why I eq'd the highs down and the lows up, why children talking drive me crazy and why squeals make me irate. After the test it all makes sense.

where did you find an Audiologist? Did your family doctor recomend one? cause id really like to get fitted myself. I dont really care if i have to pay out the ass, my hearing is worth it(hopefully work insurance will cover it)

When I go to Guv, I LOVE to dance in front of the speakers. I never usually wear earplugs and as far as I know, my hear is fine. I always CHOOSE to hear what I want to hear anyways Its called Selective Listening

They have an audiologist that is there 3 days a week or so to do tests - tests cost ~$30. I had the audiologist write a script for the attenuators and then just submitted a claim to my work insurance - viola it was paid.

I'd never even thought of it before last time Armin was here, when I noticed a few people wearing them.

I plan on it every time from now on.

FYI- The Guv has FREE earplugs at the snack bar.

And another tip: NEVER go see a Motorhead show unless supplied with full-proof earplugs. That was THE loudest thing I'd ever been to. You were still shouting at the person next to you, 1 block away after we'd left (and that's cuz the music was still THAT loud, spilling onto the street).
