all those legal questions is BS...they arnt enforced at all....i know few club residents some in miami some in vegas some in europe..and many use Burned cds when they dj...and nothing is ever said ....and also did u know the vinyl u buy is illegal to play live anyway....when u read the fine print says Unauthorized Copying, reproduction, hiring, lending, public performance ,and Broadcasting of the recorded work is prohibited.....so pretty much meanes its all agaist the law just for ur own use...any record u play.....unless u get permission from this label ....but u dont see them enforcing these laws on these djs playing this stuff live.....the reason is i think is that these laws are just there incase something happens for the benifit of the label and producer..... other then that they dont give a shit ....

True, (in the UK...) but you get authorised public performance by aquiring a "public performance license" which Radio stations and clubs use allowing them to play music they have aquired copyright for.

I know what ure saying tho - no one gives a shit, as long as the music's good and loud, people dont care

I refuse to spin trance on CDs unless they don't let me bring my tables, but when I DJ for frat/sorority parties and whatnot and they want to hear all the latest top40, I shamelessly use burned CDs. There's not a fucking chance in hell I'm spending $7 on every new top40 single that comes out, seeing as how there are 20 stupid new songs every month that always get requested, and in 2 months they'll never be requested again.

amen to that dude..

I'd pay $25 for a sweet track lik "the lost tribe - the gamemaster" on vinyl.. I'd only spin it with great care and love, only mixed perfectly with another track that goes well with it (robert miles - children) and I'd only play it for trance lovers at a house party or rave.

i'd never spin top forty crap, and if I did, it would be on burned CDs, or mp3s I wouldn't pay for that shite.. damn, if they really wanted that shit, I'd probably just plug an fm tuner into the mixer, and let the lame ass radio DJ broadcast britney spheres to these misguided morons.. (note, I know some radio DJs are cool(like pete tong), but not where I live, a shithole town in western canada. all they play is rock and roll oldies, and country.. bleh)

then just when they weren't expecting it, I'd tweak the hell out of that bitches voice with effects, start looping a sample at 140BPM, and drop the gamemaster on those unsuspecting fools! ha!

I want what's in my signature so bad!
