Some of the JNC mp3 hd players have got really good reviews in pc magazines. It may be worth checking some of those ones outas they're supposed to be somewhat cheaper too:

Don't seem to have cue support, but they have ogg and wma support.

This is one of the worst players
with a high number of them come faulty because the remote. If the remote stuffs up the whole player is screwed. As the remote is the only real thing that controls the WHOLE player.

Im buying my iRiver Hp-140 next week, still rekon its the best feature wise and price wise.

I've got an iPod, after initial doubt as to whether I would get one of those or not, After talking to people at work (computer/audio/entertainment store), I was coninced to get one. Now I am converted to Mac, and will never buy a PC again or any other paraphenalia. Go for whatever you like, they all play mp3's, and the differences are so little that you probably wont even notice. In saying that, I dont even use my stereo anymore, or my computer to listen to music. My ipod just sits there in its dock, with my entire collection, plugged into my speakers, and belts it out 24/7.

I hear criticism of iTunes from this forum?? If you ask me it's much simpler, stress free and reliable than any other music program I've seen. It work smoothly (a rareity on Windows), and is easy.

But it's up to you.

some of the iPod competitors, when plugged into a PC, come up as another harddrive, thus removing the need for any 3rd party program to be used to export music from your computer to your player.

I have been here before...

Hey guys,

I went through this stress recently. I read a thousand reviews on all mp3 players, weighed up pros and cons, compared features and spoke with people.

In the end price, features and quality played a big part. I got a Nomad Zen Xtra 30 Gb device for $385 from www.scorptec.com.au. Its awesome! I chose this model because you can upgrade the HD if you want, you can get multiple batteries for it and swap them when your out and about, it has 10 or 12 hour battery life (check site for details - www.nomadworld.com).

I got a belkin tunecast fm transmitter for it ($50) - they are the same as the ipod fm transmitter but connect to anything (see reviews...) http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProd...oduct_Id=140984

I found the software to be pretty poor but I found a great piece of software which is much better and integrates with explorer called notmad from red chair software (www.redchairsoftware.com) which was $35 AUD. At least with nomad's there are alternatives to the software which come with the product, this isn't a stab at apple's software just a comment.

My nomad rocks, i love it to bits and although it is chunkier than a ipod the extra features are worth it. I am very happy with my purchase. Feel free to pm me any questions if you like.
