Too each their own. I thought A&B's set was great, IMO.
And FYI, I looked around, and uh, everyone was jumping and dancing their balls off. At least in the area all around me.
But I wouldn't be amazed if a large part of the crowd didn't get exactly what they were expecting, euphoric/epic trance, or real fast hard trance (basement at Ten15 style) like you see in the trance area of most raves.
With that, it's their fault for not coming in understanding A&B's style....not saying this relates to anyone here as I'm sure most of us here knows more about the music than 99.9% of the crowd there, but I imagine the majority of those who weren't completely into their set wasn't into their set because of that reason.
With progression, I guessss you could possibly say that, but I think I may have unvoluntarely not expected much of it in A&B's set. It's a rave. The progression progresses throughout the night from each DJ to the next. If you come on late, get going, and back down after everyone before has been banging it hard, some energy will be lost, IMO. I think Lange's set and A&B's set flowed very well together when you combined the two.
In the end, it shouldn't be expected that 100% of everyone would enjoy their set. That'd be ludicrous.
BTW, don't blame the kid about his Cybertrance statements. In every damn thing you ever hear about Mars, Mystre, or whoever, it ALWAYS talks about it how how he/they invented it...and has before I even moved to SF back in '99 (with no idea Mars & Mystre were from here when I moved here).

first of all i didnt specify who was a candy kid, what i meant is that only candy kids like that crapy cybertrance shit and yes it was back in 97-98 the homebase days when mars mystre turn that shit popular, dont get me wrong i respect everyone opinion and whatever music you like s your thing not mine but just dont compare dyloot or any of the local djs to above and beyond, and by the way above and beyond was not playing progresive trance thats uplifting euro style, dont believed me ask Jono i talk to him here and there on msn, and once again i respect everyone's music taste but sf is just not up there in the trance scene like LA, if any of you have a chance to go to LA check Club Heaven and you will know what i mean...

Actually I live less than 100 miles from LA and my friend manages/promotes at Club Heaven, so I'm plenty into the trance scene, but I still like the SF local DJs, and I've still seen heard A&B do better(btw I never said they were bad, I liked still enjoyed their set). My point is that just because you don't like the SF DJs doesn't mean that everyone who does is a "candy kid" or they don't know what real trance is. I agree that SF isn't very much into the trance scene, but that still doesn't mean that their DJs can't do a good job.

First off i'm far from a candy kid but you wouldn't know that since you've never in your life met me. I bet I know more about music that you ever will. This cyber trance you speak of is more than just eurodance it actually orginated mostly in isreal. Ever heard of Infected Mushroom and company thats closer to what psytrance is than anything else. You know the funny thing is you act like everything you say is a fact when all music is completely subjective kinda funny how that works. You speaking equals fact but really its just your opinion. You might wanna wake up and realize that the set that A & B spun was garbage everything sounded the same and there was absolutely no set progression whatsoever and I know for a fact that i'm not the only one who felt that way, all you had to do was look around the crowd and see that not that many people where dancing. Hate to break it to you but your just another one of the sheep who love every big name DJ out there because eveything they play must be golden. A & Bs set sucked big time. Now that is my opinion but many others in the crowd felt the same way. |
Hahahahaha look who is here to the rescue Mr Skills #1 fan, you call me a tool? dont tell me you got offended by speaking the truth, A%B sounded all the same? hahaha the x you must took was pretty weak or you just dont understand real uplifting trance, instead of calling me a tool why dont you run to skills and get mystre new record i know you gona love it! it sounds exactly the same as hes last release and hes last release, oh shit i forgot is mystre vs Dyloot! better run and get it now before they run out is on the happy cheese section but i bet you already know where that is, hehe and you call me a tool? peace....
